Cell sites are important to support our most reliable and fastest network. That’s where you come in. You’ll work with cellular engineering and operations to ensure that the equipment required for cell site projects is available when it’s needed and complete. When a project needs to be completed, you will determine equipment needs and order and integrate a wide range of equipment like antennas, power systems, and fiber optic cable. You’ll work closely with other Network teams such as RF Design, Operations, Real Estate, Construction, Facilities and System Performance to implement new technologies and services and meet project milestones.

Responsibilities:

  • Determining the equipment needs for 5GNodes based on engineering plans and project outlines.
  • Coordinating the ordering and integration process to provide complete equipment sets for projects.
  • Managing supplier relationships to meet targeted network milestones and turn-up dates.
  • Attending project update meetings to present status updates.
  • Following appropriate methods and procedures for equipment tracking and inventory control.
  • Develop, engineer, order and implement equipment requirements necessary to integrate cell site equipment and peripherals. This includes, but is not limited to: engineering DC power systems, batteries, Ericsson (Nortel) CDMA BTS, Ericsson 4G LTE, 5G, towers, tower re-analysis, RET antennas, telecom interconnect equipment and other items that may be defined in the future. Work with and administer the RFQ, Matrix, Xpress and Quick Bidding, Purchase Orders and equipment ordering and receiving processes, CATS along with developing Work Orders, Scope of Work (SOW) and Method of Procedures (MOP) for each project. Provide assistance necessary to support the accounts payable function. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, AutoCad, PeopleSoft, Workflow tools and internal Environmental databases.
  • Work closely with all engineering groups within the Network team including RF design, real estate, construction, Assurance, inventory control, transport and system performance.
  • Work closely with vendors to integrate the equipment within a timely schedule and in a cost effective manner. Initiate and coordinate the investigation, test and evaluation of new and more effective equipment. Provide input for budget and implementation of regional and area planning. Project management of new technologies and services. Work both independently and well within the team. Develop methods/procedures for equipment tracking and Cell Site equipment design layout.
  • Work/interact closely with the engineer providing fiber facilities circuit design. Develop and maintain a relationship with the Area Planning team.
  • Work in creating team environment with coworkers, vendors and customers. Assist the manager of project implementation in developing reports and projections.
