What you’ll be doing...

The Service Assurance Systems Operations team is responsible for providing first call and automations by providing 24x7 support for all SAS mission and business critical applications as well as develop monitors and automations for closed-loop platform assurance. The team will partner with the DevOps teams, SA/DBA teams, and vendors to develop these monitors and automations while striving to maintain existing tier 1 and tier 2 application SLA's.

The team is also responsible for the architecture, deployment and operations of Cloud enabled applications and services on AWS. You will be working with the Development and production support teams to migrate existing on-premises applications to AWS. Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps processes for AWS utilizing Jenkins, Ansible and Cloud formation to build automated pipelines for deployment.

As part of the application migration to AWS, you will be responsible for architecting the AWS services, creating the Jenkins pipelines for automating the build of the environment, create Ansible deployment playbooks, create custom AMIs, manage snapshots, configure logging and monitoring, manage ELB and certificates, manage KMS policies and keys, manage custom security groups, AMI rehydration, etc. Additional responsibility to create automated verifications of the application using tools like Selenium, API, RPA

The role requires expertise with Linux operating environments. The role will involve deploying code/packages in production and non-production environment, prepare task plans, and follow change management process. Work with application Development, Sys Admins, DBAs and peer IT groups. As part of the 24*7 job requirement, may need to work after normal business hours and some weekends to support releases and outages. Need to be able to join crisis/outage bridges when paged. Provide resolution to issues and mitigate problems proactively.

Function with limited direction and guidance, and be able to diagnose extremely technical and challenging problems within the systems. Accurately assess problems and if necessary communicate the problem information to peers, support group and HW/OS vendors. Work in a team environment, demonstrate leadership skills, possess excellent communication skills, and follow established business processes and procedures.


  • Develop HP BSM application monitors to identify and determine the root cause system issues.
  • Develop automations to provide close loop assurance for systems.
  • Partner with DevOps, SA/DBA, and vendors to plan and implement automations.
  • Architecture, development and deployment of applications into AWS.
  • Creating the Jenkins pipeline for automating the build of the environment.
  • Creating automation validation scripts using selenium, RPA, API, Bot technology.
  • Create Ansible playbooks, Cloud formation templates, custom AMIs.
  • Configure and manage KMS policies and keys, ELB SSL certificates, custom security groups.
  • Logging and monitoring setup, maintaining health checks.
  • Day to day application support, monitoring and system administration of applications running on Linux.
  • 24*7 support for mission critical applications, requires occasionally working after normal business hours and weekends to support releases, application issues and outages.
  • DevOps engagement to drive CI/CD in the build and deployment of applications using tools like Jenkins and Ansible.
  • Automating manual processes, Problem (break/fix) analysis & remediation.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with workload automation, UNIX and Shell Scripting.
  • Experience in architecture, operations and administration of applications running in AWS.
  • Experience in AWS technologies: EC2, Cloudformation, S3, EBS, EFS, ELB, Autoscale, Cloudwatch, KMS, Security groups.
  • Programming in Java script, Python, JSON.
  • Web technologies - Apache, Tomcat, Weblogic.
  • Database technologies - Oracle, Postgres, SQL.
  • Unix/Linux, Shell scripting, Powershell, Perl.
  • DevOps and CI/CD process implementation using JIRA, Jenkins, Ansible.
  • Experience with database applications such as oracle, mysql.
  • Willingness to provide on-call support as needed.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
  • Experience in IT operations support.
  • Experience to include hands-on development and production support.
  • AWS certified solutions architect or AWS certified systems administrator.
  • Selenium, API, RPA, bot technology.
