What you’ll be doing...

As a part of Verizon’s Network Assurance Business Operations Support team, you’ll get a great opportunity to work on a wide variety of Network Assurance initiatives including the expansion of our satellite backhaul program. As a part of the team supporting disaster and event response you need a strong desire to run to a crisis and tackle complex executive requests and projects. A sample of those opportunities would include the following:

Disaster Response

  • Partner with submarkets to execute annual disaster recovery exercises and drills to ensure adequate preparedness
  • Support the creation of a national standard EOC (emergency operations center) model and communicate documentation nationally
  • Support submarkets in disaster recovery when and where needed

Aerial Solutions

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in aerial solution options and road map moving forward as they relate to the use of drones, manned aircraft, balloons, blimps, or any other quick response aerial option designed
  • Manage the creation, testing, and implementation of future solutions
  • Communicate these solution options to the markets to ensure awareness and knowledge of the capabilities of each option
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of aerial assets including ensuring that software loads are up to date and pre-build systems are fully functional while also providing guidance to the field in regards to best locations to store
  • Ensure database systems are up to date with all available assets, their equipment, and capabilities
  • Manage the deployments of aerial solutions as needed
  • Be capable of deploying each of these assets yourself in a hands on scenario if necessary
  • Create and pursue additional ways to monetize or sell these solutions in partnership with cross functional teams

Microwave Response

  • Partner with submarkets to execute annual disaster recovery exercises and drills to ensure adequate preparedness as it relates to quick deployment of microwave solutions
  • Support the creation of a response standard that improves our ability to respond with microwave quicker when a disaster hits
  • Manage and maintain microwave equipment in a ready to deploy state whether that be by managing a vendor or managing the equipment ourselves
  • Partner with the submarkets to pre-design paths and understand the tools available to quickly design microwave path solutions when the need arises
  • Be capable of designing paths and manage the deployment of solutions
  • Support submarkets in disaster recovery when and where needed

Executive Support

  • Provide executive support with power point deck creation on various subjects as needed
  • Program Manage and Implement executive level initiatives cross functionally and with the field teams
  • Partner with Directors, Executive Directors, or VPs to investigate, explore solutions, and implement solutions to complex issues.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to communicate direction and implement solutions to issues

Special Projects & Initiatives

  • Provide project management for special project initiatives supporting Network Assurance
  • Program Manage and Implement network assurance special project initiatives cross functionally and with the field teams

What we’re looking for...

An individual capable of seeing the big picture who can dive into the weeds to get answers. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to shift priorities on the fly and tackle both short and long term initiatives with a sense of urgency. This candidate will be comfortable interacting and presenting to executives and is capable of building strong cross functional relationships. They are capable of managing national efforts and initiatives that require building project teams and communication structures to ensure successful implementation.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP
  • Knowledge of microwave hardware equipment and capabilities
  • Knowledge of microwave path design and deployment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Project management skills (PMP and/or Agile)
  • Skills in Microsoft Office product suite: PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Skills in Google Suite products: Sheets, Slides, Docs
  • Knowledge of fiber transport, microwave, satellite solutions, and disaster/crisis responses
  • Knowledge of 4G LTE Wireless network RAN and CORE
  • Business reporting acumen and data analysis experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work comfortably in a fast paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems and then communicate and implement those solutions.
