What you’ll be doing...

The Transport Creation & Provisioning (TCP) team performs remote network commissioning and provisioning of infrastructure facilities across the Intelligent Edge Network (IEN). You’ll be responsible for providing technical SME support to center technicians working through IEN circuit turn up activities acting as Tier 1 support. You will troubleshoot complex technical issues and interface with center/field technicians, Engineering, IT, Tier 2 and vendors alike. You will also provide leadership and direction on recommendations to technical and process issues related to TCP as well as provide training as needed. Responsibilities will include:

  • Take the lead to troubleshoot new and existing transport network builds to isolate technical issues and recommend appropriate action to repair.
  • Partner with IT to drive automation and participate on FOA Project teams to care for TCP process requirements and efficiency.
  • Resourceful in identifying root cause issues and easily partner with others to resolve troubles.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives in identifying and developing solutions for department and cross-functional processes.
  • Provide effective two-way communication to help facilitate trouble resolutions, deliver hands on training and/or contribute to requirements gather sessions.
  • Provide peer support by ensuring consistent coverage.
  • Efficiently and effectively manages self, time and resources.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Knowledge in Ethernet & OTN over MPLS; GMPLS Controlplane; OAM - Operations, Administration & Maintenance; FCAPS -Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance, and Security; or Packet based Network Modernization & Migration. Familiarity specifically tailored to Cisco NCS 2K, 4K and Ciena 6500T is a big PLUS.
  • Traffic bearing network equipment experience.
  • Experience providing technical support and/or managing complex processes and driving results.
  • Knowledge of the following systems: EPNM, CTC, NTLS, CoE, UUI, ACTP, ICON.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn Transport software platforms, test set operations and be prepared to learn new technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
