What you’ll be doing...

You will be responsible for working to plan and implement long term cost-effective solutions for the transport and switching of cell sites, PTSN, and EBH data traffic. This includes working with counterparts within the region to design the backhaul network's fiber, and EBH, as well as working with providers of leased facilities to provide backhaul and maintain capacity needs for new cell sites, existing cell sites, and expense reduction without risking the integrity of the network.

  • Work with peers to ensure we maintain paths, switch, and vendor diversity where needed.
  • Build and maintain circuit/network design and billing records in designated data repositories such as Granite.
  • Play a lead role for your assigned market in expense reduction by analyzing, documenting, and tracking key service indicators.
  • Prepare and evaluate RFPs and RFQs as necessary in Tess or other bidding tools as required.
  • Handle all administrative duties such as circuit ordering, records upkeep, and project management of circuit implementation and delivery.
  • Monitor capacity of voice trunking, EBH, and COIN networks and oversee ongoing modifications to support customer demand.
  • Use available tools to determine savings opportunities.
  • Contact Vendors to evaluate their proposals and review performance.
  • Stay current on technological evolutions.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel upto approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Knowledge in wireless platforms and technologies, 4G, 5G, etc.
  • Telecom experience including T1, Optical Networks, Packets DACs, Cell Site Routers, Ethernet Backhaul, and Dark Fiber.
  • Knowledge of test equipment including Tberd and OTDR.
  • Knowledge of data communications including network design, routers, switches, hubs, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and MPLS.
  • Telecom ordering experience including SONET and EBH.
  • Experience with Granite, formerly Xpercom, circuit inventory system and BillTrakPro.
  • Experience in office computer applications; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Experience in Tableau.
  • Analytic and interpersonal troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Leadership skills including a commitment to excellence, initiating action, accepting responsibility for results, and making quality decisions.
  • Willingness to be flexible to try alternate solutions to resolve issues and seamlessly adjust to a dynamic ever changing business environment.
  • Organizational and project planning skills.
