What you’ll be doing...

PeopleSoft Sourcing & Contract module (TeSS) system support lead. RFP's are awarded to vendors, and contracts are negotiated totaling billions of dollars through the PeopleSoft TeSS modules. The accuracy of the bids being sent to the vendors, the subsequent analysis of the bids, and awarding the correct bid to a vendor require a system that provides all pertinent information. This candidate must understand the importance of all of these attributes and use that knowledge to lead the users and improve the overall system functionality. Job tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Provide reporting and run status meetings with Area Lead Principle Engineers and their Managers.
  • Employee will be responsible for working with the engineering team across the nation, external vendors, IT Principals and Managers, Directors and VP's as it is related to system usage and reporting/metrics.
  • Lead IT meetings to walk developers through the importance of requested changes and evaluate cost/benefit to Verizon.
  • Analyze and test system changes as it relates to user experience and the end to end overall strategy. This includes working with external vendors.
  • Lead cross functional meetings with other systems and business groups to develop an improved end to end process. This includes external vendors.
  • Onboard external suppliers allowing them access to respond to posted bids.
  • Communicate with and train both an internal and external user community that utilizes the Tess tool.
  • Manage issue/maintenance tickets opened by the end user community. Prioritize work with IT and communicate status and resolution to end user.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Statistical software experience.
  • Experience with large scale IT systems.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • The upstream and downstream system impacts and data available for reporting must all be clearly understood so that clean reporting can be obtained through the lifecycle of the transaction.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Responsible for understanding the engineers process in preparing and RFP, the decision making and analysis that goes into selecting the proper transport vendor, the detail required by Directors/VP's/Executives so they can evaluate and approve NPV's and Contracts, and the information required by the vendor to properly complete a bid on an RFP.
  • PeopleSoft query and/or SQL experience preferred.
