What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be responsible for leading a team of Managing Client Partners and sales professionals supporting the Public Sector market for Verizon Enterprise Solutions. This position oversees business development and sales activities in support of the U.S. Department of Defense. Additionally, you’ll be dedicated to leading and managing all sales functions with the goal of meeting and exceeding all business metrics/objectives, including revenue growth, sales and segment growth.

  • Leverage your interest and proactive vision to drive the Operational Readiness and Strategic Business initiatives to exceed objectives.
  • Deliver a growth-driving portfolio for the Public Sector customer segments, leveraging all available product capabilities to drive to this objective and meet growth and margin targets.
  • Provide strategic direction, guidance and management to the Federal Civilian sales team.
  • Generate breakthrough business development ideas and take those ideas from concept through internal approval to externally-qualified opportunities.
  • Regularly communicate sales strategies, initiatives and key segment information to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop new area initiatives, strong value propositions, and innovative sales approaches that grow revenue and customer satisfaction.
  • Meet new business targets for existing and new markets.
  • Monitor sales performance and develop strategies to meet/exceed objectives.
  • Regularly review individual team member performance and progress against strategic plans and develop team members.
  • Align daily sales activity to the Verizon Credo.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting metrics and deliver reporting to sales leadership.
  • Direct, coach and mentor sales team to key performance metrics.
  • Measure effectiveness of sales team customer engagement and relationship development.
  • Matrix manage all stakeholders including Marketing and Product management to align a consistent strategy and execution.

Some travel is required.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and negotiation skills, with the ability to successfully work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively interact with C-Level executives.
  • Ability to identify short and long term goals to achieve overall team/company objectives.
  • Federal domain knowledge and Federal contract and procurement experience.
  • Proven successful track record with exceeding targets in sales activity across multiple products.
  • Strong leadership, business, financial and analytical skills, with a detail-oriented and quality-minded approach.
  • Ability and experience managing expenses.
  • Seven or more years of successful experience with strategic/solutions and/or systems integration sales experience or related discipline.
  • Three or more years of experience leading sales organizations.
  • Ability to manage, lead and influence others outside of your department/functional area.
  • Managerial experience.
  • Ability to self-direct.
  • Motivation, and a proven track record with consultative selling solutions.
  • Experience with solution selling to C-level Executives in the Fortune 500 and Global market.
