What you’ll be doing...

Manager –Strategic Relationships is a highly motivated, self-directed individual committed to achieving significant sales and retention results. This role calls for strong interpersonal skills, critical and analytical thinking, conflict management, financial management and creative deal-making skills. In addition, successful sales experience and a comfort level with C- level executives is preferred. This individual must possess the ability to lead and navigate across departments while developing and maintaining relationships. The primary focus is to enable sales to retain existing revenue while expanding revenue streams with other relevant services. In addition, this individual functions as the market intelligence expert while also managing the stakeholder engagement of pre sales, sales, finance, legal and the client.

This individual will gain approvals and prioritize large retention opportunities for the business unit. Specifically, activities related to large account deal management and overseeing rate management efforts. Review the customer financial offers of the top opportunities to validate competitiveness and to ensure necessary profitability goals are met. Act as the POC for deal escalation and interface with the necessary executive management to drive escalations to closure and gain special consideration approvals. Ensure alignment of internal resources i.e. Finance, Legal, Pre-Sales Support and sales to consistently drive closure of large opportunities. Utilize strong financial management skills by evaluating sales opportunities, the associated pricing, margins and capital requirements for large opportunities within the business unit. Lead strategy sessions with sales and management to articulate a strong business case and facilitate the appropriate interaction with Finance and Legal to compose a competitive and executable contract. In concert with direct account teams, engage and lead negotiation strategies and execute communication with client and/or consultants to bring contract to closure.

Preferred Skills: Negotiation, deal structure; strong communication skills and business acumen. Independent thinking; time management, competitive spirit, and a strong sense of urgency. Strong financial and analytical skills. Ability to retrieve and interpret analytics and financial information for deal strategy purposes.

Education and Experience: Generally requires a Bachelors or Master’s degree or equivalent work experience. A minimum of 9 years experience in same or related discipline desired.

Work Complexity: Application of advanced expertise to resolve diverse /complex problems. Subject Matter Expert in sales acumen, art of structuring a deal, negotiations, message coordination through challenging circumstances and matrix management of deal life cycle, ability to develop and present financials including ROIs to internal and customer decision makers.

Knowledge and Skills: Sales; Sales Management; Cross functional communication skills; Deal Finance; Business Acumen; negotiation. Proficiency in data retrieval and interpretation. Ability to analyze data, identify trends and make recommendations. Analytical mindset and approach required. Advanced excel skills required. Strong knowledge of SFDC and REV systems and tools for reporting and analysis.
