What you’ll be doing...

As a Project Manager, you will be part of Wireless Network Management Center (NMC) ART team. The NMC-ART team is responsible for the NMC training, strategic planning, efficiencies, process/policies, project management, and work flow development ensuring operational readiness.

  • Development and implementation of process improvement and policies focused on network monitoring and verifying service level performance within the NMC.
  • Ensuring the NMC is operationally ready for all new technology, product, and system deployments with in the wireless network.
  • Providing project management support for NMC related projects.
  • Working cohesively with Network Assurance (NA) teams to gain alignment on operational procedures.
  • Working closely with NS to drive efficiencies with NOC tools provided and supported by NS.
  • Documenting and maintaining operational workflows to drive system/tool requirements.
  • Development and maintenance of operational playbooks.
  • Managing and communicating process changes and notifications within the NOC and internal partners.
  • Working with other internal departments on policies and procedures to enhance trouble resolution time.
  • Working closely with Operations to quickly resolve network impacting issues.
  • Responsible for supporting Emergency Operations Console.
  • EPDR Planning and Supporting.
  • Initiating and managing new processes to improve performance & quality.
  • Demonstrating a sense of urgency when responding to regions, NA, and executives.
  • Continuing to support the best network in the industry as measured by Root Metrics, Nielsen, and Internal Baseline.
  • Working with regions & other NNO teams to provide timely support of Network Change Controls and Compliance issues.
  • Performing database research to recommend ways to improve the quality of data and reporting.
  • Interface with Maintenance Engineering weekly regarding SDR Quality reviews.
  • Providing a timely response to all network troubles, both service affecting and non-service affecting.
  • Responding to after–hours call outs on a 24–hour basis.
  • Participating in meetings and/or conference calls concerning problem resolution.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Project management experience leading initiatives.
  • Knowledge with NMC operations/tools.
  • Three or more years of experience in a network operations environment developing/implementing corrective processes and procedures to drive operational excellence and deploying new technology, product and systems within a large center environment.
  • Experience in more than one of the following fields: telecommunications, network operations, data networking, and/or maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the following technologies and/or platforms: Advanced voice switch/cell infrastructure experience including data communications and transport, Lucent 5E and ECP, Motorola MGX, and Nortel MTX; digital communications including: DS1, DS3, Fiber, ISDN; operating systems and applications including: UNIX, Windows, MS Office; computer support experience including: PC hardware and configurations, troubleshooting; power experience including: Galaxy, Lorain, DC distribution systems, troubleshooting; and telecom experience including: T1, DACS, OMP. Knowledge of adjunct platforms, Octel /Glenayre, SS7, STP's. HLR's.
  • Training infive or moreof the following areas: data communications, digital communications, operating systems and applications, telecommunications, computer support, project management, and/or power.
  • Knowledge of communications software.
  • Knowledge of all major cellular switching, sub-systems, and power systems.
  • Tool knowledge or experience with Jira, Tableau, Excel/Sheets, Power Point/Slides, Analytical Dashboards, Google Drive etc.
  • Experience with network operations and general knowledge of other lines of business.
  • Knowledge of transmission facilities and facilities testing (ULH, Dark Fiber, DS0, DS1, DS3, and Microwave).
  • Working knowledge of basic telephony and network architecture.
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Scrum Master(CSM).
