What you’ll be doing...

At VZConnect, our UX team is made up of passionate professionals with focus in UX, Service design, Content strategy, visual design & user research. We are looking for a Senior Service Designer to join our Research and Development team. This role entails mapping the full service experiences, identifying and unlocking opportunities and dependencies, and designing 10 star customer experiences. You will help to create surprising & relevant scenarios/concepts/visions that explore potential or articulate a holistic service experiences, based on contextual understanding & user needs.

Working in a cross functional team, you will be responsible for the service design, UX, and research of a section of our product line. You’ll work closely with your Research, Product and Engineering colleagues to understand the needs of our users and deliver a design that solves their business problems.

  • Bringing together disparate disciplines to understand underlying systems, interfaces, product and service opportunities and how a Customer will experience these systems and interfaces.
  • Run frequent cross functional - workshops/ideation & solutioning sessions for customer problems.
  • Develop & share service blueprints through service maturity and ensure all plans and actions have clear owners and are clear, measurable, actionable and executed with your colleagues in other functional groups (eg: support, marketing, hardware, legal, Global IT etc).
  • Be the voice of the user on your team, ensuring that the products we deliver solve the right problems for our users in the right way.
  • Work with members of the Research team and Product Management teams to ensure the customer experience your team designs is also aligned with our product strategy, roadmap and timelines.
  • Establishing and managing the relationships and liaising with key stakeholders in the organisation throughout the project lifecycle.

What we’re looking for...

  • Have 3-5+ years of experience as a Service Designer.
  • A portfolio that showcases your capabilities in UX process and Service design.
  • Experience in planning, executing & analyzing multi-stakeholder workshops and customer co-creation sessions to uncover "what is" & "what could be" journeys or scenarios.
  • Service Design process, and proven track record of actionable ownable outcomes based on To-Be blueprinting workshops and stakeholder management.
  • Proven journey mapping, blueprinting, designs and experience of launched services in the real world. Must have a design or research portfolio w/ mobile, web or service projects - demonstrates a strong design aesthetic, attention to detail, design thinking approaches.
  • Excellent collaboration (joint projects & workshops), interpersonal (warm and inviting) & communication (clear, concise and erudite) skills.
  • Experience w/ iterative sprints in agile/lean development in fast moving SaaS/PaaS environments.
  • Formal education in design disciplines preferably in Service Design or one of related disciplines - UX design, Design Research, Information architecture, Systems /Business Design
