What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s Global Supply Chain (GSC) is seeking a talented, highly motivated and experienced individual to join its Garage Work Center (GWC) Operations team. This role will have overall leadership responsibilities for employees in its Maryland, DC and Virginia Potomac region. You will be responsible for providing direction through various means including monitoring and driving metrics, expense budget management, data analytics, process design and compliance, and implementing change management.

Responsibilities include:

Administrative

  • Approve time sheets, vouchers, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage expenses and budget.
  • Manage resources: right people, place, material, inventory levels, etc.
  • Utilize VZ systems for information: VTS, VSAP, BI, Elementum, etc.

Compliance

  • Manage and drive scorecard compliance metrics.
  • Manage company policies and procedures.
  • Perform site visits - Neat, Clean, Organized and Safe.

Inventory Management

  • Manage inventory levels and address escalations.
  • Coordinate and manage process for regional inventories.
  • Collaborate with field customer to understand needs, resolve issues, and identify opportunities for improvement, etc.
  • Participate in storm readiness/ prep.

Business / Change Transformation

  • Drive business transformation and change management:
    • Participate in CFTs.
    • Participate in pilots.
    • Prep, plan and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Communicate work instructions and process changes.
  • Verify process compliance and understanding of Work Instructions.

Employee Development

  • Provide ongoing coaching and development to employees.
  • Schedule and manage required training.
  • Address union issues and grievances, per contract requirements.
  • Conduct team meetings.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have...

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with performance metric data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Experience using PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Willingness to travel within designated Potomac region.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Six or more years of proven track record in Supply Chain Operations – managing team productivity, leading process improvement, driving results against defined objectives, ad-hoc training, and interfacing with union officials to resolve issues. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with performance metric data collection, analysis and reporting with the ability to draw conclusions, make recommendations and decisions.
  • Familiarity with Field Operations activities and needs.
  • Business, Supply Chain Management or equivalent proven work experience.
  • Ability to perform in a high volume, fast paced changing environment with good time-management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communications skills; capability to interact with all management levels including the senior executive team.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and status multiple concurrent projects / deliverables.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
