What you’ll be doing...

The Corporate Systems Group (CSG) General Ledger Operations Support team is responsible for providing a high level of support during accounting month-end close. The team participates in the completion of special projects that impacts processes and systems including VLSS projects, functional and technical CSG initiatives, and internal accounting projects. The team aims to build awareness and knowledge of digital disruptors by identifying and implementing new technologies into day-to-day operations relevant to finance in core technology areas.

The SAP Finance Analyst is responsible for general support of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and reports to the Supervisor of Financial Systems. The position’s primary responsibilities includes production support for the following tasks:

  • Provide SAP General Ledger systems support for all accounting and finance teams during and between accounting periods.
  • Handle SAP GL help desk support for end users, ensuring resolution of issues.
  • Work closely with the Accounting as well as Controlling and Reporting teams during month-end close, opening and closing the Accounting Periods as required by the business.
  • Create queries and quality assure existing queries and ERP tables.
  • Maintain consistency and integrity of accounting data through maintenance of system support functions and controls documentation.
  • Work closely with FSG technical IT functional area subject matter experts on system maintenance and enhancements.
  • Participate in the 1ERP conversion initiative to S/4HANA.
  • Assist with ad hoc special projects and analysis.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have

  • Bachelor's degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • Experience with SAP Finance/Controlling application and tables.
  • Experience with financial systems, procedures and verification, and knowledge of financial statements and concepts.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree with two or more years of equivalent work experience.
  • Master's in MIS, MIT, Business Administration or Accounting/Finance.
  • Ability to interact with IT and various business functions, as well as will various levels of management.
  • Capability to write and document a process with demonstrated ability to identify gaps, waste, and drive process improvements.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of ERP applications or processing financial data, including interface management experience and working knowledge of data warehousing, data transformation, or IT production support.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including expert proficiency in Excel.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed while being available for off hour escalations.
  • Comfort using standard project management documentation techniques.
  • Experience in the technology or telecommunications industry.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-based focus.
