We have an exciting opportunity open for a Network Technician to join our South African business based in Johannesburg. Our Network Technicians work to support our customer accounts maintaining the voice and data network they rely on to stay up and running. Thanks to you, our customer will rest easy knowing they don’t need to worry about staying connected—because you’re on top of that.

The Network Technician is responsible for the installation, testing and maintenance of Verizon’s core network and supporting infrastructure. This role maintains relationships with Carriers and Support partners to ensure timely delivery of services and provide detailed instructions on how to deliver such services in order to meet Verizon standards. Responsibilities will include troubleshooting network issues, documenting customer incidents and resolutions, technical validation, maintenance and repair and developing strong working relationships with local carriers.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Cisco switches and routers.
  • Experience with Avaya voice and data network systems.
  • Working knowledge of wireless access points or ups.
  • Willingnessto work as part of an on-call rotation.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Cisco Certified Network Administrator/Professional (CCNA/CCNP).
  • Cable/Wire Certification.
  • Attention to detail and good inter personal skills.
