About Verizon Innovative Learning

Verizon Innovative Learning, the education initiative of the Verizon Foundation, brings technology and hands-on learning opportunities to middle and high school students in under-resourced schools and communities. We not only fund the programs, but we also create and implement them in partnership with leading nonprofits. We diligently measure the impact of our work and refine our programs to ensure we’re making a difference. Our goal is to invest up to $400 million by 2023 to provide middle-school students with the skills to put them on the path to success in an increasingly tech-dependent job market.

Position Responsibilities

The Sr. Analyst – Corporate Social Responsibility will be responsible for education technology for the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools (VILs) initiative and the CSR organization, act as the IT/tech representative for the VILs program team, as well as support various IT and project management efforts for the initiative, to positively impact under-resourced and underrepresented youth across the United States. Specifically, the Sr. Analyst will report to the VILs Program Manager and will work with Verizon business, OEMs, non-profit organization(s) and public and charter middle schools, to ensure accurate ordering and successful delivery of technology devices and access for the VILs program, as well as other education technology requirements across the CSR organization. In addition, the Sr. Analyst will be the education technology representative for the VILs program team and support various IT and project management efforts for the initiative. The Sr. Analyst must have a strong foundation in project and process management, education technology, will have a minimum of 2 years of experience, and be an innovative problem solver, self-starter and strong collaborator who excels in a fast paced environment. The Sr. Analyst should be able to travel at least 25% of the time.

Overall responsibilities may include:

  • Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with non-profit partners, OEMs, and internal support teams.
  • Support ordering and delivery process and planning for technology integration.
  • Create new sales orders, monitor purchasing and the on-time delivery of technology.
  • Work with various teams to add appropriate data plans and apply data usage controls.
  • Review monthly compliance reports and work with partners to resolve any non-compliant issues.
  • Perform device account management and resolve technical issues as needed.
  • Maintain project timelines, and monitor and manage those timelines to achieve all milestones.
  • Schedule and conduct site visits to observe device deployments and evaluate project progress to ensure success.
  • Meet regularly with non-profit partners, OEMS and internal teams to effectively communicate project expectations and progress, monitor budgets and provide monthly and quarterly reports as needed.
  • Prepare various project-specific planning and cost analyses, spreadsheets, work instructions and presentations as requested and required.
  • Maintain project budget.
  • Attend weekly project status meetings and ad-hoc meetings with program managers.
  • Support VILs project management, which may include organizing project meetings, issuing minutes, tracking and reporting project progress with team members and following up on action items.
  • Support other CSR projects as needed.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in project management or program coordination.

  • A degree in IT or relevant field.

  • Knowledge of societal issues impacting Verizon Innovative Learning target groups.
  • Strong analytical skills that enable tactical improvement of processes and outcomes.
  • Strong communications and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in K-12 education and technology integration.
  • Experience with managing successful projects or processes.
  • Willingness to travel to partner sites for project evaluation up to 25% of time.
  • Constant curiosity and strong analytical skills that enable improvement of processes and outcomes.
  • Self-motivation, and thrives in fast paced environments, managing multiple responsibilities and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in MS Office & G-Suite products.
  • Strong foundation in project and process management and are an innovative problem solver, self-starter and strong collaborator who excels in a fast paced environment.
