What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s Device Supply Chain is looking for an Onsite Operations Manager, who is responsible for managing the 3PL relationship and also managing the Distribution Center (DC) Operations. The On-Site Operations Manager position is responsible for 3PL vendor management and oversight of the Verizon’s DC Operations in West Coast. This includes inbound receiving, picking, and shipping and ensure inventory controls are in place. This position is responsible for oversight of millions of pieces shipped annually to our customers, stores and indirect agents. This position will require an in-depth knowledge of warehousing and logistics space and ability to manage multiple projects and requests simultaneously. The position is responsible for implementing best practices, process improvements and state of the art security infrastructure and controls to ensure the safety and security of the product.

Partner with 3PL to ensure the vendors are performing to contractual obligations regarding on-time shipping, order accuracy, inventory management, and reporting. Provide detailed shipping forecasts by channel, by day to position our vendors for successful fulfilment to all customers. Strategically support the replenishment of inventory to stores and systemic enhancements to the DC Order Automation process. Establish new KPI's and reporting tools to measure warehouse efficiencies and cost impacts to Verizon.

Warehouse Operations

  • Partner with marketing, CPFR, Corporate Billing and the transportation team to support volumes as needed.
  • Oversee the DC Order Automation process.
  • Develop and implement systematic reconciliation process for DC Order Automation order drops.
  • Act as a led on-site subject matter expert of warehouse processes and support internal initiatives impacting warehouse operations.
  • Partner and develop a routine cadence with Device Marketing and CPFR to create and review forecast models.

Vendor Management

  • Ensure 3PL perform to contractual obligation regarding on-time shipping, order accuracy, inventory management, and reporting and discrepancy resolution.
  • Develop new processes to improve order accuracy resulting in a 5% reduction in picking errors.
  • Partner with DC to create an automated Dfill line for the ability to increase throughput for spikes in demand.
  • Perform warehouse audits and identify opportunities to standardize and utilize best practices across all 3PL partners.

Managing DC Outbound Processes

  • Ensure DC Staffing is maintained to handle all volumes by channel.
  • Monitor order flow by channel, handle issue resolution until the flow is restored.
  • Ensure the DC is compliant with all packaging, shipping and carrier requirements.
  • Manage the daily, weekly and monthly reporting requirements.
  • Reconcile vendor invoices, analyze spend and identify opportunities for spend reduction.

Lead Iconic Launches

  • Create forecast and volume projections at a detailed SKU level for both devices and accessories.
  • Partner with CPFR on seed plan to stores.
  • Ensure DC can execute launch activities for all channels.

Project Management

  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement initiatives for the transition to the new facility.
  • Support initiatives to reduce cross clustering of inventory.
  • Identify operational efficiencies, facilitate and implement solutions for higher throughput and cost reduction.

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Masters Degree.
  • Excellent forward thinking and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of managing a product portfolio.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as necessary.
  • Ability to partner with internal and external vendors.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to lead large scale projects and handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines on time.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and follow up skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with team members.
  • Capability to communicate effectively throughout multiple levels of the organization.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and fast changing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and capability to implement process improvements.
  • SAP experience.
