The Senior Manager-Systems Engineering in the CSG Emerging Tech Center of Excellence will build and lead an organization to develop and support emerging technology solutions, such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Blockchain, Natural Language Generation (NLG), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and other cognitive technologies. Desired candidate will have a strong background in Agile and other System Development Lifecycles, as well as the business acumen to support the management, communication and strategic activities to mature the CSG Emerging Tech CoE.

The ideal candidate will be a thought leader working cross-functionally within the CSG Emerging Tech CoE and partner inter-departmentally across departments like Finance, Supply Chain, and HR. This individual should be able to interpret customer feedback and anticipate needs while matching them to our emerging tech solutions. The candidate will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives and leveraging complex methods, metrics and tools to achieve business benefits and corporate goals.

Listed below are additional responsibilities pertains to this role:

  • Lead all aspects of the development and delivery of disruptive technology and tools, such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Blockchain, Natural Language Generation (NLG), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and other cognitive technologies.
  • Define standards and best practices for efficient and secure development of emerging tech solutions.
  • Handle responsibility and decision authority focused comprehensively on the execution, delivery, and ongoing support of these projects (end to end development and deployment).
  • Support the intake of potential use cases throughout the business, partner with stakeholder groups inside and outside of Finance, Supply Chain, and HR, to identify high-value opportunities for tool adoption; assist users with intake form entry, review submissions, make recommendations and drive decisions toward ideal prioritization to expedite value-add to Verizon.
  • Handle day to day activity of Verizon employees and oversight of third party vendor resources.
  • Assist and partner with IT, vendors, and business partners on infrastructure reviews and decisions.
  • Work with stakeholder community to promote compliance with standards, guidelines, leading practices, security, and risk management in accordance with guidelines and processes.
  • Forecast financial, physical, and human resource needs to meet established objectives.
  • Compliance to Verizon-wide policies and procedures or direct impact on the re-design of existing policies and procedures.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of financial systems and accounting principles.
  • Experience deploying solutions with tools such as Robotics Processing Automation (RPA), Blockchain, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Natural Language Generation (NLG) and advanced analytics.
  • Experience managing onshore & offshore teams of 10+ resources.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Five or more years of work experience in a management role with ability to manage and status multiple concurrent projects and deliverables.
  • Excellent Google Application skills with the ability to synthesize complex ideas into visual presentations suitable for executive consumption.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact with team members and internal customers.
  • Experience in Agile project facilitation, delivery, SCRUM role, as well as SDLC.
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiating skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to complete complex projects applying independent judgment and a high level of outcome ownership.
  • Ability to perform in a high volume, fast paced changing environment with good time management skills and the ability to work independently, accurately, and with a high degree of organization.
