What you’ll be doing...

A Revenue Assurance Tech Ops Senior Analyst is tasked with solving complex problems through innovative and in depth analysis. The Sr. Analyst is tasked with providing insight into network and customer behavior through basic statistical analysis, exploration and logical procedures. This position is responsible for designing, owning, implementing and articulating opportunities to apply data analysis and statistical models to ensure accurate billing and understand customer trends.

Daily System Monitoring

  • Data analysis responsibilities encompass quantitative and qualitative aspects including the design, development, implementation and validation of analysis models to form data driven conclusions.
  • Data mining responsibilities include use of tools such as, but not limited to, development of intermediate to complex SQL queries to derive customer and business financial impacts.
  • Data analysis duties involve turning large volumes of data into actionable insight for the business by:
    • Choosing relevant and meaningful business questions.
    • Collecting the best data for the decision from multiple large volume data repositories.
    • Reviewing and understanding the data in context to the business and how it changes.
    • Cleaning and transforming the data for analysis and interpretation.
    • Analyzing the data to answer business questions.
    • Customizing the analysis to focus on very specific situations.
    • Communicating results in an audience appropriate manner using applicable metrics, visuals, actionable insights, recommendations and decisions.
  • In concert with the Network Assurance analytics team(s), participate in the development of basic statistical tools and methodologies.
  • Create framework, using data inferences and automation, to develop reproducible data driven recommendations optimizing stated business objectives.
  • Assist in the continued support of internal operational databases to ensure actionable outcomes for analyses and reporting.
  • Using the aforementioned techniques, identify and track anomalies under a risk-based approach, to protect the integrity of the network as it relates to customer billing.
  • Responsible for testing of new code that affects the alerting flows. i.e. ER/MR releases by IT.
  • Creating and maintaining test cases in our automated test scripts tool
  • Representing the alerting team on project calls to ensure the teams requirements are met with our business partners as new pricing and promotion plans are developed.
  • Where appropriate, work with internal and cross-functional teams to root cause and resolve billing related or customer impacting problems. This is done through ticket tracking as well as new RTs for system or process enhancements.
  • Suggest and track operational metrics that support the changing needs of the business.
  • Continually broaden and strengthen knowledge of analytical methods, tools and databases.
  • Participate in knowledge/best practice sharing opportunities.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Systems audit or quality control experience.
  • Two or moreyears in business areas that support wireless technologies in a quasi-engineering or technical capacity
  • Experience with data driven decision making
  • Teradata or Oracle database experience.
  • Two or moreyears of writing advanced SQL, PL/SQL packages, functions and procedures and tuning database/query performance
  • Demonstration of data mining against very large datasets
  • Basic statistical analysis experience
  • Working in the Telecommunications, Consumer/Retail space within the Financial Services, Technology or other related mass market industries
  • High level of curiosity and investigative mind-set with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to do complex data analysis.
  • Experience at querying and managing data.
  • Ability to understand system process flows and identify risk areas.
  • Application of issue tracking techniques and follow-through.
  • Experience using large databases to solve problems.
