What you’ll be doing...

You’ll lead multiple parallel large-scale projects with a high level of technical complexity leveraging your industry expertise and by performing in-depth analysis to ensure the right path is being pursued on behalf of the business units involved.

  • Provide subject matter expertise dedicated to the Verizon Enterprise Solutions (VES) Product teams to assess and approve requirements from the company's hosted SDN & VNF deployments on Verizon Cloud Platform (VCP), taking into profound consideration the resource needs in contrast with the available operational capacity of the multi-tenancy platform.
  • Discover patterns and practices for transforming pNFs to vNFs, architect long range plans to evolve the platform and cloud services, while improving performance of the current deployments by suggesting new designs for vNFs in design process or during onboarding.
  • Discover repeat infrastructure, platform, or application dependencies for process and product improvements.
  • Drive rapid deployments of SDNs & VNFs in VCP to increase profits and new revenue, and reduce cost or time-to-market delays.
  • Advise on any major shortfalls or near future business plan constraints based on regular operational results executive reporting, and be responsible for Cloud platform capacity management.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to enhance the team learning environment by providing and encouraging mentorship and technical leadership.
  • Provide industry leading expertise, participate as a technical expert in industry events that Verizon is represented at, and build team technical capabilities.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience with multiple/ hybrid cloud environments - Openstack or AWS, as a user, practitioner or administrator.
  • Experience with Linux in a virtualized environment.
  • Experience with Software sales/ pre-sales pipeline support.
  • Experience with hosted Virtual Network Services sales/ pre-sales pipeline support.
  • Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing and fire walls.
  • Five or more years of experience with multiple/ hybrid cloud environments - Openstack or AWS, as a user, practitioner or administrator
  • Strong software development lifecycle concepts.
  • Experience with zero-touch, fully orchestrated, work-order fulfilment and deployment builds across multiple environments.
  • Experience with data analysis of key cloud capacity usage patterns, trends, and projections.
  • Experience with System Monitoring tools and Synthetic Monitoring tools.
  • Contributed to open-source projects and/or publications.
  • Experience with IMS core network elements including IP transport within the core network up to the radio access network.
