What you’ll be doing...

Join the Inventory Planning and Operations Team as a Manager of Data Analytics!

As the Manager of Data Analytics you will be responsible for providing business intelligence that helps the Consumer Inventory Team evaluate complex issues in order to make smart business decisions. You’ll partner with your internal clients to understand what they need to know, then design solutions to get the end results. You’ll design new systems and programs to gather and unleash the power of big data through systems integrations. You will generate insights that will help propel our business forward by:

  • Collaborating with others to identify analytic requirements and devising the best possible solution(s).
  • Analyzing complex operational, economic and accounting data to quantify the competitive business segments and evaluate potential operational changes.
  • Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing conclusions.
  • Developing innovative strategies.
  • Developing models to predict future outcomes.
  • Consulting with stakeholders and senior leaders on insights, trends, and data-driven solutions.
  • Maintaining the relationship with many IT department leads to ensure data is made highly available between reporting systems.
  • Identifying, scoping, prioritizing, and project managing automated solutions to create efficiencies and reduce redundancy in Consumer Inventory for all markets nationally.
  • Systems integrations with internal Verizon systems in order to better share data and refine processes for improved business workflows.
  • Managing the Inventory Analytics and daily reporting for all three Areas.
  • Managing the National Inventory SharePoint site.
  • Managing SOX compliance reporting.

You’re great at understanding and analyzing business needs, then translating them into the technical requirements to drive a research agenda.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of work experience.
  • Experience with big data analysis, distilled insights, and using data to make business recommendations.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in computer science, information systems, or a business-related field.
  • Experience presenting complex ideas and insights to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience building and deploying OLAP cubes with SSAS,
  • Experience with Teradata or SQL.
  • Experience with Hadoop or SAP.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, quantitative analysis, forecasting/predictive analytics and/or multivariate testing.
  • Retail Sales Experience.
  • Inventory Experience.
