What you’ll be doing...

The Program/ Project Manager will be responsible for engagement initiatives such as Community Engagement, Volunteerism, Local Sales Meetings and Events across the East Area. The Manager will be responsible for developing and executing events and projects - from end-to-end - that improve the culture and operations of the business. They will be a strong communicator who is comfortable working with different teams at various levels of a business, able to track and analyze program data and will have excellent organizational skills. This role requires an understanding that people deliver results and that making them a priority is a trademark of a world class organization. The Program/Project Manager will report to the HQ Operations’ Senior Manager-Program/Project.


  • Develop, project manage and execute complex initiatives and events that require analysis, strategy, and effective stakeholdering across all business units within Verizon.
  • Develop and deliver high quality employee culture, volunteerism, and engagement programs and events. This includes providing day-of/on-site event/meeting coordination to ensure both the event itself, as well as pre and post meeting requirements are cared for.
  • Define, track and analyze indicators of project success as well as financials/costs/ROI.
  • Manage the portfolio of Area President sponsored projects including providing analysis and updates to senior leadership teams on the status of each item.
  • Identify new programs/projects/processes that build awareness and engagement of Verizon’s product portfolio, amplify our brand, and coordinate upselling opportunities during engagement and volunteerism programs.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Event Managementor four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Marketing experience or related field.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Presented findings and insights targeted to what that audience cares about (up to the executive level).
  • Analyzed what’s important from a variety of sources to provide a holistic view of the marketplace, competitive factors, risks, and opportunities.
  • Designed custom research approaches to gain broader or deeper consumer and market insights.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Translated market knowledge and strategy into compelling stories and tools for the sales team.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously
  • Agency or consultant experience.
  • Team player and ability to work well with large and varied teams.
  • Communication and presentation skills
