What you’ll be doing...

This position is responsible for driving, planning, coordinating and managing medium and large scale network projects to success in a multi-department, multi-vendor environment. These projects may include market integrations, switch/cell integrations and small cell build outs, antenna modifications, technology deployments, and others.

  • Drive large-scale engineering projects using Project Management tools to ensure objectives are met on time and within overall budget. Leads multiple complex projects and is expected to lead the most complex and/or high impact projects.
  • Provide guidance and project direction for cross-departmental teams both within and outside the Regional Network Organization. Responsible for planning, execution and completion of assigned projects.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction (both internal and external) through successful and timely project management. Typically manages multiple projects at one time.
  • Collaborate and guide internal and external vendors to meet targeted network milestones and integration dates.
  • Successfully interface with multiple levels of the business and management.
  • Support corporate initiatives for engineering and ensure adherence to network engineering standards.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment and maintain a high performance level.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently at a fast pace in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Coordinate and lead project meetings to keep the team abreast of overall status, changes, risks and major milestones. Provide regular status reports and management reports.
  • Escalate issues and crash project plans when necessary to keep schedules on-track.
  • Establish contingency plans as needed throughout the duration of all projects.
  • Coordinate Lessons Learned post-mortem discussions to document and improve efficiencies of similar projects going forward.
  • Uses independent judgment and discretion to make decisions in the best interest of the business. Anticipate future workload and prepare accordingly. Recognize impact of decisions upon the rest of the organization and projects. Translate functional/operational goals into team goals and be accountable for project results.
  • Engage in group activities, establish and modify processes as needed to meet new challenges, demonstrate original thinking, openness to change and alternative solutions.
  • Must consistently demonstrate a sense of urgency for the team’s priorities and projects. Recognize Reporting requirements for projects and provide accurate, appropriate levels of reports in required timeframes.
  • Lead by example. Demonstrate company values and policies, initiates action; assume ownership for decisions and results.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Technical experience in the cellular of telecommunications industry.
  • Willingness to travel within the region.
  • Valid driver’s license

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Project Management, Finance, Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Excellent Project Management skills and experience managing and driving complex, high dollar, high visibility projects.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical, financial and technical skills.
  • Persuasive Communication Skills – Highly refined and successful verbal and written communications skilled. Apply appropriate grammar in clear and concise communications and listen attentively. Ability to present ideas in a logical, compelling manner in both small and large group settings; be courteous, while persistent, in sharing and collecting information.
  • Expert knowledge of Project Management Tools (e.g., MS Project) and MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). In depth knowledge of FUZE and Site Tracker.
  • Strong decision-making and Leadership abilities (especially as it pertains to providing direction to teams that do not directly report to you). Appropriately use all available information and data. Ability to make decisions, act on those decisions and provide guidance and direction.
  • Strong organizational skills. Logical, detail oriented and have the ability to work independently, accurately and effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
  • Positive ‘Can Do’ attitude.
  • Ability to work efficiently and be self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and maintain high performance.

  • Ability to embrace change; adapt communications style to setting, Investigate and implement alternate approaches to resolve difficult problems.
  • Knowledge of wireless network architecture and industry.
  • Experience with Ericsson LTE infrastructure, and Cisco / Juniper Routers.
  • Solid understanding of telecommunications industry standards is preferred. Including functions and platforms such as: Ethernet backhaul, Microwave, Transport equipment, Industry Regulatory requirements, cellular hardware and connectivity.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and support night or weekend work as needed.
