What you’ll be doing...

In this role, you will significantly contribute to the execution of the strategic roadmap for Verizon's ERP program as a functional system lead and project manager. Leads projects, and serves as a subject matter expert (SME), to implement initiatives for the Verizon ERP programs and strategies.

Project Manager engages with customers, stakeholders, multiple IT teams, and leaders across Verizon in support of ERP projects. As a project lead the candidate drives cooperative solutions for all stakeholders while ensuring the project fulfills the strategic objective including to provide timely, accurate information and to ultimately safeguard Verizon assets.

Project Manager demonstrates broad knowledge of ERP systems, an intermediate knowledge of Supply Chain and Accounts Payable operations, financial, and additional support systems, along with a deep knowledge of project management principles, methodologies and tools. Supports the customer through ERP Systems implementations, new function development, enhancements, and defect fixes. Executes all project management tasks, through Agile and other methodologies, and monitors associated metrics to ensure key milestones are met and project health is maintained. The Project Manager will identify improvement opportunities in their area and, if asked to, contribute to the design and implementation of new processes or procedures.

  • Serve as team coach by providing motivation and direction to the project team while creating enthusiasm around what is being delivered.
  • Lead multiple calls daily to gather requirements, document meeting outcomes, and manage assigned action items and project tasked assigned to completion.
  • Support end users with complex questions and requests.
  • Urgently address executive escalations with proper communications and solutions.
  • Leads multiple cross-functional and cross business unit teams to solve for large scale strategic and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Derives relevant impact from complex project requirements across the company.
  • Generates creative solutions and designs the plan, along with the teams, necessary to deploy project solutions.
  • Identify risks and opportunities associated with projects and adjust the project scope/duration and costs as appropriate to drive on time solutions.
  • Responsible for project plans, progress metrics and results relating to project direction check points, testing and user acceptance.
  • Works independently to generate and execute final solutions and decisions related to complex business solutions that require deployment of system and process changes.
  • Possess a deep knowledge of the software development cycle and practices in order to make informed decisions.
  • Create program and project gap analyses between as-is / to-be system and process choices to support deliverable recommendations.
  • Develop and presents status and impact communications to all effected levels (project team, executive sponsors, other stakeholders).
  • Serve as central point of knowledge and communication across multiple internal and external stakeholder groups (especially executive level management) to facilitate the alignment/definition of the long-term strategy and project prioritizations to fulfill the strategic goals.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, Economics or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • SAP and Ariba delivery experience.
  • Experience with project management principles, methodology, and tools.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master’s degree or MBA or other advance degree.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including strong Word, Excel, Visio, MS Project and PowerPoint skills to clearly communicate and present content to business leaders.
  • Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization amongst diverse, differing, competing, and/or conflicting perspectives/priorities.
  • Operational and business orientedwith ability to quickly understanding system capabilities.
  • Ability to clearly develop and articulate solutions and business requirements and communicate to technical teams.
  • Ability to independently handle and effectively prioritize several projectssimultaneously.
  • Collaboration skills and experience documenting and improving processes.
  • Ability to work effectivelyin amatrix organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of software life cycle and experience with Agile (includes user stories and acceptance criteria).
  • Ability to meet deadlines, complete important time sensitive tasks and adapt quickly to last minute changes.
  • Working with design and content teams to deliver an excellent customer experience.
  • Experience intechnology or telecommunications industry.
  • Professional certifications (e.g. PMI, VLSS, Six Sigma).
