What you’ll be doing...

This role would be responsible Identify emerging and disruptive technology vendors, products, and solutions for the development of Customer Facing Self Service systems in the area of Virtualized Voice over IP services, 5G solutions and Virtual products on One Fiber. Lead the development and deep experience in Software development with technologies (IoT, M2M, 5G, DevOps, Cloud, Agile) and provide key strategic insights. Demonstrated history of subject matter expertise within claimed specialty (ies), for example: routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP), L2 networks (RSTP, STP, 802.1x), MPLS, Cellular WAN, QoS, WLAN, advanced configurations, etc., Experience configuring SDN/NFV/Container/KVM/ IaaS. Experience building and deploying cloud-based applications (Open Stack)

  • Product Development/ Engineering & Virtual Services Integration architecture
  • Identify emerging and disruptive technology vendors, products, and solutions for System integration.
  • Manage an IT staff of developers and cultivate the relationship with vendors to drive innovation within Verizon.
  • Lead development and deep experience in Software development with technologies (IoT, M2M, 5G, DevOps, Cloud, Agile) and provide key strategic insights.
  • Present recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Use data analytics to make strategic decisions regarding trends in technology and services to implement change within Verizon.
  • Provide strategic direction and thought leadership for driving technology transformation through strategic vendor partnerships.
  • Enable an agile and simplified on boarding process for emerging solution integration with Verizon products and network.
  • Experience must include the design, configuration, long term planning, operational support and project management of large telecommunication systems, associated voice and data networks
  • Extensive working level business and systems knowledge in a global organization; involved with Enterprise level needs and vision
  • Excellent Communication skills for conveying plans and participating in review meetings; customer-facing participation within the company and with external vendors and resources
  • Demonstrated experience working with blended teams, including staff and contractors, both in-house and off-shore
  • Early identification and notification of issues and risks, with appropriate mitigation actions as required
  • Change Management experience, including assessment, impact, scheduling and controls
  • Manages the development of quality assurance standards and best practices

  • Provide governance to Outsourced model and strategic direction to support teams

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure-as-a-service platforms: AWS, Google Compute Engine, Azure, Soft Layer, Open Stack, etc.
  • Experience building and deploying cloud-based applications (Open Stack)

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Knowledge of Agile Development, continuous integration and automation testing.
  • Experience of implementing Overlay Network.
  • Experience with any of the following: cellular WAN technologies and solutions, WAN optimization, Wireless LAN, datacenter technologies (load balancers, datacenter switching, etc.), virtualization technologies and concepts (Hypervisors, orchestration, software defined datacenter, NFV, etc.), security appliances and concepts (firewalls, IPS/IDS, identity management, access controls, etc.)
  • Knowledge of current IT systems, software, cloud, and software defined networks (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Virtual Network Services (VNF).
  • Knowledge of software delivery models like micro services, methodologies, and road-maps.
  • IT Infrastructure experience managing, securing, operating and supporting Voice and Networking services with a strong focus on IP networking technologies supporting voice, video and data networks
  • Experience in creating technology roadmap, blue prints and tactical to strategic execution plans.
  • Experience with outsourced and hosted third party service providers.
  • Experience supporting international, global and multi-national wide area networks with over 100 sites
  • Experience with but not limited to following technologies: TCP/IP, IP addressing, Routing Protocols, QOS/COS, Cisco routes/switches, wireless controllers and access points, Checkpoint/Palo Alto Firewalls, Remote Access/VPN, SD Networking, Virtualization, Automation and Orchestration, Intent based Networking, Proactive and Predictive Modeling, Programming and Scripting, Chef, Puppet, VoIP, SIP, Voice Gateways, CODECs, DNS, DHCP, Skype for Business, Geolocation, Load Balancing, IoT, Edge Computing, AI.
  • Experience with Governmental and Country specific regulatory, legal and compliance restrictions regarding telecommunications and data privacy
  • Experience with database architecture and design, with relational and NoSQL.
  • Experience with Machine Learning technologies and methodologies
  • Experience with architecture and design of complex telecommunications infrastructure
