FP&A Center of Excellence Team

Reshaping the future of FP&A at Verizon, calls for improving our ability to deliver exceptional value to our customers. Being a part of the Center of Excellence (COE) team you will work alongside financial professionals and business leaders, gaining opportunities to grow and develop to build a strong FP&A foundation. You will be involved intarget setting, reporting & analysis, planning and forecasting, and guiding the strategic direction across Verizon. Explore the breadth of opportunities that come with aligning your expertise with the future of superior networks, systems, analytics and video, to improve the way people live work and play.

  • Identify business processes and system improvement opportunities in collaboration with internal business units.
  • Assist senior project managers in ensuring all project work for the FP&A COE is being completed on time and to standards established to deliver a quality product, while mitigating risks to the program as needed.
  • Collaborate with various teams across multiple functions to develop concrete, detailed work plans for implementation of business process and system improvement projects, including the schedule, outlining duties of each team member, documenting project goals, and setting the timeline of the project.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure projects remain on track, meet deadlines, stay under budget and develop according to plan.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing with business users and collaborate with IT as needed to resolve discrepancies.
  • Responsible to gather and document all project results and reporting them to the appropriate parties, including upper-level management.
  • Support certain administrative activities for the COE Project Management Organization
  • Communicate with stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • An Associate’s degree
  • Two or more years of relevant project management work experience
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel and Powerpoint

Even better if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Math, Finance, Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or Information Science.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to focus on the details.
  • Experience in a role that required planning and delivery of business process and/or system-related projects
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with specific project management methodologies such as Agile and Scrum
  • Experience with financial analysis or budgeting processes
  • Experience with or knowledge of financial systems, such as SAP, Oracle Financials, Hyperion Planning, Oracle Essbase
  • Knowledge in the usage of Digital Finance tools such as Visualization, Robotics, Cognitive Language Generation, and Advanced Analytics.
  • Knowledge in the usage of Oracle DRM, Collibra, Hyperion Financial Management.
  • Knowledge in the usage of OBIEE, Tableau, Qlik, Teradata Analytic Services, SQL, and/or similar tools.
