What you’ll be doing...

As a Business Transformation Manager (BTM) focused on driving process maturity and analytics for Verizon Business Group (VBG), you will report to the "Director of Business Transformation: Process Management". The BTM will interact with senior leaders in VBG and will have an integral role in defining and executing transformation initiatives.

Your primary focus will be specifically around process evaluation, maturity, governance and evolution - across one or more key practices within the business: Create, Market, Sell, Deliver, and/or Service.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation of existing VBG processes, identification of process maturity gaps, establishment of best practices, and leading the execution of recommendations through process optimization.
  • Lead concept, define scope, and execute on strategic and operational business transformation initiatives via process improvement.
  • Engage leadership on key projects designed to increase revenue, reduce expenses, enhance business efficiency, and improve customer experience.
  • Be an effective change agent utilizing proper stakeholder analysis and change management techniques.
  • Work with the Director of Business Transformation, and leaders in VBG, to provide effective leadership for the initiatives under analysis and optimization.
  • Provide senior leadership and functional unit management with updates on project status, key metrics, issues, and risks.
  • Analyze various drivers impacting key metrics and outcomes and provide a fact-based recommendation to the stakeholders.
  • Be a liaison between business units on projects that have a multi-organization or business unit scope.
  • Facilitate team meetings and cross-functional workshops.
  • Conduct analyses needed to prove or disprove the hypothesis driving project execution.
  • Proactively anticipate and work towards mitigating risks to project execution or stakeholder engagement.
  • Support others by providing real-time coaching on business transformation and process improvement methodologies and tools.

You have the ability to drive results at all levels, regardless of reporting structures, and have a proven record of performance and trusted professional credibility. You are someone that has excellent verbal and written communication skills and are comfortable in working up and across the organization. You are a strategic thinker whose work results in new ideas that drives the business forward.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in one or more key practice areas of: Customer Experience; and/or Create, Market, Sell, Delivery & Service of products and solutions.
  • Experience in evaluation, development, and optimization of mission-critical business processes.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in engineering, business or Master’s degree or MBA or advanced degree.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma as a Black Belt or higher.
  • Experience focusing on strategy, operational processes, and customer experience.
  • Experience in telecom or related industries.
  • Experience working in a tier-1 management consulting organization.
  • Experience developing and using key performance indicators to drive business performance, specifically around labor and project performance, including budget-to-actual analyses and estimates to complete; including IT system enhancements related to performance metric developments.
  • Presentation skills, including the ability to create presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint, and experience presenting to all levels of an organization - including executives.
  • Quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to conduct outside/inside research, analyze data, and use Microsoft Excel effectively to develop models and drive analyses.
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects on time and budget.
  • Experience leading a team with proven facilitation, change management, and problem solving skills.
