Join our Information Technology team where you will work on new technologies and find ways to meet our customers’ needs and make it easy for them to do business with us. You will work fairly independently on more complex operational & technical projects, issues, systems and applications. You will use your experience and skills to solve problems that are more difficult & infrequent. You will have potential for expanded job responsibilities and growth as we continue to modernize our systems.

The Bill Format Operations team has the responsibility of monitoring and supporting the operations during the processing of many Billing cycles. The team monitors daily billing cycles in the Wireline & Wireless areas. They also support the planning and implementation of all the deployments for major or minor releases.

In order to meet the strategic needs of the business there are programs to consolidate and migrate applications from legacy to newer technology solutions. The Operations team needs to have critical analytical skills and great focus to ensure that the application maintains the data integrity and performs to scale. The application interfaces with multiple applications and vendors. Its end goal is to assist in providing properly formatted bills to our Verizon Wireline & Wireless customers.

  • Execute and automate the daily capture, monitoring and controlling of operational metrics.
  • Manage the platform upgrade of the application to comply with Verizon standard security policies.
  • Work with the team that support applications 24*7*365 - requires working on certain weekends and holidays.
  • Work in a fast paced, dynamic operations environment with geographically distributed teams.
  • Work closely with various teams to drive efficiencies. Including deployments, issue tracking and debugging issues.
  • Make continuous process improvements through performance enhancements, automation of repeated manual processes.
  • Monitoring the server and application health check frequently.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and work closely with various teams to resolve the issues, ensuring stability and performance of the production environment.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working on Unix/Linux Operating System with Shell scripting.
  • Experience working on Oracle databases with SQL & PL/SQL.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Working experience in OOPs, supporting/knowledge of Java based application, Web Services and/or Spring framework.
  • Excellent analytical and Problem solving skills to develop quick yet sound solutions to resolve complex issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, Teamwork & collaboration skills to work across cross-functional teams.
