What you’ll be doing...

As Principal - Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics within the Value Based Marketing (VBM) team, you will be focused on the application of advanced analytics within marketing. This will take the form of predictive models, recommendations and targeting analytics.

Your role will be multi-faceted. Primary focus will be predictive model development, playing an active role in making assessments and recommendations on current and future technology, and helping to navigate through technological change within the computing and analytic environments.

You will work with the data science team as well as marketing and offer managers to identify the specific analytic needs for each use case. You will work with domain experts to understand data sources, conduct data munging and engineering, and create training data sets. You will conduct experiments with the training data sets to develop the most appropriate models, selecting the best methodology for the use case and environment. You will work with IT and others to apply these models within the Pega recommendation system or via lead list targeting.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manage your model development projects through the various cycles of the development process:
    • Model Specification
    • Data Development
    • Model Development
    • Model Validation
    • Model Implementation
    • Ongoing Model Production management/validation
  • Consult with marketing, IT, legal, Database Marketing and others regarding the most appropriate models and their application.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering related discipline.
  • Experience using statistical modeling software to develop predictive algorithms and in statistical techniques and quantitative methodologies that are used in Machine Learning applications.
  • Experience using data mugging, data engineering, and feature engineering software to prepare data for use in modeling software.
  • Experience interpreting output of models, selecting appropriate algorithms to match data sets and desired outcomes, and building visualizations to depict your interpretations.
  • Experience evaluating Machine Learning tools, platforms, and architecture.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities.
  • Experience synthesizing information and conveying complicated information.
  • Experience using analytical software such as SAS, R, Python, and Spark.
  • Experience with Database platforms, particularly Hadoop and Teradata.
  • Capability to simplify and communicate complex analyses and methods.
  • Knowledge with Pega Systems’ Decision Hub.
  • Knowledge with Verizon Consumer Markets and Reward Systems (VZUP).
