What you’ll be doing...

As a Talent Management Architect you’ll lead the strategic approach, design and continuous improvement of enterprise performance and talent processes – focusing on our most important processes holistically. You’ll ensure talent processes are integrated, aligned, complement each other, and support the overall organization’s strategic, digital and cultural transformation. This position fosters a culture that ignites performance and delivers business results.

In scope talent processes for this position include:

  • Performance management
  • Development and career planning
  • Strategic design of talent planning strategies for potential assessment and succession planning, including integration with leadership and functional capabilities

You will also spearhead communications and training to launch broad talent campaigns (e.g. new feedback processes) and own integration of an enterprise talent process calendar.

  • Create strategic approach for end to end talent management as a SME and data driven insights. Assess external/industry best practices for recommendations
  • Design, develop and implement talent management solutions with focus on Sr. Leaders and Directors for succession bench
  • Specific expectations for the Talent Planning Strategy include crafting – and aligning - recommendations for:
    • Use of assessment and evaluating tools in the talent planning process
    • Defining how Verizon thinks about talent readiness for movement
    • Integration of emerging leadership capabilities into talent planning processes
    • Infusing data-driven talent insights into key points in the talent process (e.g. talent cards, insight from assessments, critical experiences)
    • Recommending tactical changes to talent processes (e.g. rating scale changes for talent planning)
  • Specific expectations for the performance management strategy component:
    • Review external/internal landscape and craft recommendations to strategically position Verizon’s performance management process to ensure a balanced focus on: maximizing performance, rewarding key behaviors and enabling employees to develop and grow
    • Partner with HRIS team to craft recommendations to improve performance management system, including analysis of new opportunities to support and/ or replace existing tools
  • Specific expectations for the development and career planning component:
    • Analyze external landscape and meet with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for strategic changes to our development and career planning tools
    • Craft updated Verizon strategies for development and career planning
  • Work closely with Performance Management, Talent Management, Compensation and HRIS teams to align, prioritize and implement recommendations
  • Create talent management calendar for the enterprise that integrates and aligns all talent processes
  • Project manage key talent initiatives with multiple stakeholders and aggressive timelines
  • Collaborate with the HR team and business leaders to understand business needs and provide direction on enterprise best practices
  • Identify opportunities to integrate end to end talent processes
  • Support measurement of impact/ROI of talent processes
  • Own integration of an enterprise talent process calendar

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology or related field of study
  • Four or more years of performance management and succession planning.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to manage projects with multiple stakeholders and requiring enterprise wide implementation/change management
  • Excellent oral communication skills through demonstrated persuasive communication and knowledge sharing at all level of the organization, in person and virtually
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Knowledge of best practices in talent management including performance management, succession planning and career development
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Even better if you have:

  • Advanced degree in Applied Psychology or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in talent system design and implementation, and employee engagement strategies
  • Excellent data analytics skills
  • Background in leadership development and/or learning and development
