What you’ll be doing...

As the DMTS - Sr. Data Solutions Architect, person will lead data lake architecture, development of new data applications, and the creation of data teams as part of the software delivery engine. Person will be helping Visible Engineering team operate in an agile-based Software Delivery Methodology. The person will be responsible for leading and providing oversight and enablement of team-based delivery of engineering software projects, enhancements, and ongoing software support. This role will be responsible for developing and enabling teams of business system analyst, solution architects, technical architects, and developers to successfully deliver business capabilities through agile scrum methodology. Visible works on heavily outsourced model. This person would define the architectural direction and solutions for Visible and would be extensively engaged with vendor partners to ensure they following his/her lead and implement solutions based on the framework laid down by him/her.

The person will be responsible for providing oversight and enablement of team-based delivery of data-centric software projects, enhancements, and ongoing software support. This role will be responsible for developing and enabling teams of business system analyst, solution architects, technical architects, and developers to successfully deliver business capabilities through agile scrum methodology. You will also work with other resource managers and Engineering Portfolio and Project Managers to establish and manage ongoing standard processes, resource/capacity planning, and project sequence forecasts.

The person at this position will bring experience working with platforms and technologies critical to support Visible's business capabilities and have both a vision for and experience with working with latest cloud based software technology stack to optimize architecture. He or she will also focus on building and supporting high-performing teams, and developing and measuring his or her function against continuous improvement metrics.

Responsibilities:

Delivery Leadership

  • Staff teams (employees/vendors) with needed skills to deliver highest priority work

  • Coach and mentor team members to develop skills and enable them to remove impediments

  • Assess project roadmaps and drive short and long term actions to address skills and capacity planning

  • Participate in establishing sourcing from 3rd party vendors to create capacity flexibility and scalability

  • Collaborate and participate with Delivery colleagues to establish coding, testing, and documentation standards and ensure teams are adopting and adhering to defined practices

  • Identify and propose specific strategies, initiatives and remedies necessary to align technology infrastructure with Visible's objectives.

  • Support development of business drivers, business case and high level program implementation plan.

  • Translate business issues/opportunities into technical solution/business requirements.

  • Develop a conceptual solution architecture using a combination of Visible's standard products and selected third party suppliers to produce an end to end Client solution.

Data Architecture and Engineering

  • Starting from the initial phase you will be architecting the Business Intelligence and Machine Language / Artificial Intelligence systems to gather insights into our customers’ usage on our Website and Mobile Portal.

  • Apply machine learning and optimization algorithms to maximize the efficiency of our business and minimize risks.

  • Build, validate, and test predictive models using machine learning techniques to explain or predict behavior and solve a variety of business and engineering problems.

  • Identify, collect, and explore the right data used for predictive modeling and algorithm development.

  • Extract and transform data from existing data stores, perform ad-hoc analysis, and report analysis results.

  • Identify business insights and business opportunities using complex customer data, customer usage trend and product usage data

  • Leverage pattern detection to come up with solutions to loosely defined problems

  • Experience with Tableau, MicroStrategy or other advance business intelligence tools a plus

  • Lead strategic architectural planning to achieve goals by prioritizing initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future state architectures.

  • Act as a Thought Leader for the business goals

What we’re looking for...

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience managing software development teams, with specific experience in data engineering, business intelligence, and vendor management.

  • Solid technical understanding of ecommerce platforms and system integrations

  • 8+ Years of expertise in building business intelligence models and frameworks

  • 5+ years of experience applying data engineering, data science, data mining and statistical techniques within an organization.

  • Experience with statistical tools like SAS / R. Experience with analytical tools like Matlab / SPSS

  • Familiarity with advanced statistical and operations research modeling tools, machine learning and data engineering

  • Experience working with large data sets to solve problems.

  • Familiarity with relational databases and Experience with Spark and/or Hadoop is a big plus.
