What you’ll be doing...

This position will be responsible to lead a team of over 20 warehousing professionals responsible for warehousing activities related to Verizon’s Wireless Network, Enterprise and Business customers and International Logistics. The candidate will need to set the strategy for the team that allows for Verizon to operate a world class warehousing operation and ensure the team executes on that strategy. This includes management and oversight of our 3PL partner who will operate a 700K square foot facility in TX as well manage 3PL’s responsible for international DC’s. The candidate will lead a team responsible for all aspects of warehousing, inbound operations, outbound operations, inventory control, and special projects. The candidate and their team will be co-located onsite in TX and will have to collaborate with the 3PL to develop and drive process improvements. Additionally the candidate will need to lead a team responsible for holding the 3PL accountable for attaining key KPI’s. The candidate will have responsibilities to build a multimillion dollar budget and responsible for building a strategy to hit the budget while meeting internal and external customer expectations.

  • lead a team focused on constantly evaluating and analyzing the current warehousing processes and identify and opportunities that that will decrease costs while meeting service level commitments.
  • lead a team responsible for the analysis and implementation of cost containment initiatives and process improvements across our warehousing network.
  • need to consider the impact on inventory planning, transportation operations and end customers while analyzing and implementing these initiatives.
  • act in a strategic manner, understanding where the industry and Verizon is heading, to build strategic plans to allow Verizon to operate a world class warehousing model.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Businessor four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, IE or a MBA in a related field.
  • Experience in warehouse operations.
  • Experience managing large teams.
  • Analytical skills and ability to identify trends in data.
  • Managing warehouse operations knowledge.
  • International logistics experience.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, establish realistic timelines/milestones and achieve results.
  • Strong relationship management including peers, executives, internal/external customers, third party vendors, and various stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of management including senior leaders.
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.
