What you’ll be doing...

As a member of the Reporting and Analysis Center of Excellence (CoE), the Director provides overall strategic direction to the team responsible for providing standard and ad-hoc reporting & analysis services to the Consumer Business Segment. In this role the director is responsible for the overall operations of the reporting & analysis team, working with CoE leadership to ensure the timeliness & quality of services delivered and driving continuous improvement across all FP&A reporting. CoE reporting & analysis services will include financial statement analysis, sensitivity and trending analytics, NPV analysis and multidimensional profitability analysis. In addition, the job is responsible to partner with HR to manage all aspects of the employee life cycle and ensure the team has the talent required to perform the work.

Strategic Guidance & Management:

  • Directs and oversees the CoE Reporting and Analysis function in support of FP&A specific to the Consumer Business Segment in the production and delivery of all standard reporting (e.g. template updates, charts), presentation materials; and profitability (costing) analysis.
  • Communicates high level analytical insights and strategic guidance to their stakeholders and recommends courses of action.
  • Serves as the primary business partner, working and communicating with FP&A Business Unit (BU) teams to assess profitability performance, identify opportunities and recommend a course of action, demonstrating deep business expertise.
  • Manages workload capacity and bandwidth of the Reporting & Analysis Team, deploying resources as necessary to ensure the quality and timely delivery of services.
  • Manages the employee life cycle processes (Recruiting, Performance, Development, Career and Compensation).

Client Service:

  • Partners with COE leadership and BU FP&A leaders to identify key opportunities within the business, develop action plans to enhance CoE value, and to deploy CoE resources to match changes in customer demand.
  • Participates with CoE management team in customer councils to define CoE services, service level agreements and interaction models to ensure the highest possible value is delivered to the Business.

Process Improvement & Assurance:

  • Defines services & customer expectations in collaboration with COE leadership and ensures the delivery of services is aligned with those expectations and adheres to Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
  • Participates in CoE performance review meetings with key customers, identifies opportunities to enhance services and value provided; and implements action plans.
  • Drives standardization and process improvements for Reporting & Analysis to the Consumer Business.
  • Partners with the Transformation Management Office (TMO) to define requirements and identify optimal tools and technologies to produce and deliver reporting and analysis.

What we’re looking for...

Education

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent work experience
  • Master’s in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent preferred.

Prior Work Experience

  • 9+ years of directly related experience with a strong management background working with major projects and initiatives.

Certifications

  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA) preferred.

Functional Skills

  • Proven leadership & management skills.
  • Expert knowledge and technical acumen for the analysis of business results.
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills; comfortable with presenting to executives.
  • Advanced knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and basic knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Experienced in the design of inquiries and reports.
  • Extensive experience with the design and implementation of financial reporting systems and applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge in the usage OBIEE, Tableau, SQL and/or similar tools.
  • Knowledge in the usage Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Strategic Finance or similar tools.
  • Attention to detail and strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to work in matrix organization.
