What you’ll be doing...

You will be responsible for providing project management, Capital and Expense tracking and analysis, and staff support to the Potomac Fiber Access team. You will provide executive-level support, planning, and analysis to ensure FTTP, 5G, FTTC, Ethernet, and all OSP tactical and strategic objectives are achieved across the team and key partner groups. You will partner with RAN Engineering, Core Engineering, Operations, peer groups, and External Affairs in achieving success in growing the Fiber network in the region.This position will supervise additional staff. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Manages the key metrics and results for the team.
  • Lead key projects that drive bottom line results.
  • Financial responsibility for Capital( $240M) and Expense(~$40M) budgets.
  • Key interface to Engineering Managers and their teams in managing results, metrics, and process improvements.
  • Prepares and presents results, analysis and associated PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ensures team compliance with regard to training, specific tasks, etc.
  • Manages executive level escalations for service delivery.
  • Manages urgent, confidential and complex tasks and constantly changing priorities.
  • Works independently under strict timelines.
  • Manages team and staff communications.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or ten or more years oftelecommunications experience in wire line engineering or operations.
  • Planning and organization skills in a dynamic and high pressure work environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
  • Leadership skills in prior roles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to act independently with a sense of urgency and appropriately escalate issues as required.
  • Ability to work in a cross functional capacity between various internal and external organizations.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects with varying priorities.
  • Experience with OSP engineering and processes.
  • Experience in Engineering systems (e.g. CCP, UUI, ICGS, LFACS, vBuild, iVapp, and FIM)
  • Five or more years of experience with Transport engineering.
  • Technical acumen for advanced data analytics
  • Five or more years of experience in supervisory level.
