What you’ll be doing...


  • Responsible for engineering, implementing and coordinating telecommunications systems including inside and outside plant facilities.
  • Engages appropriate internal and external organizations with professional written/verbal communications to accomplish required tasks.
  • Identifies and evaluates inside and outside plant facilities to determine which systems best serve Company and Customer requirements.
  • Proposes solutions supported by sound engineering and operational productivity to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
  • Recognizes vulnerabilities in network infrastructure and makes intelligent decisions to ensure reliability – within financial constraints.
  • Prepares detailed cost analysis, project specifications, route mapping, and business justifications.
  • Receives general instruction, otherwise performs independently with minimal supervision, exercising latitude to achieve daily objectives and approaches to critical/complex assignments.
  • Effectively manage a wide range of simultaneous activities often interrupted by other demands.
  • Responds immediately to network outages, assisting and engaging in the deployment and execution of assigned tasks. May require off hour work during catastrophic events.
  • Regular work conditions are 40 hours per week with limited travel. Extended hours and occasional weekend work may be required depending on business demands.
  • Responsible for producing detailed cost analysis, project specifications, job management, requisitions, and detailed installation specifications.
  • Engages appropriate organizations to communicate project requirements and ensure required activities are completed on time and within budget.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills – ability to interact with customers and coworkers at most levels including executives.
  • Detail oriented, well organized, and effective in multi-tasking.
  • Ability to work independently to achieve deliverables and resolve urgent issues.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles within ISP job related functional area to include best practices, procedures and company standards.
  • Strong Computer skills (Databases, Processes, and Administrative) – Experience with complex applications to include Word, Excel, Visio, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of complex field application. Ensure that projects are installed and constructed in accordance with specifications and company standards.
  • Experience working with application of engineering systems and databases.
  • Knowledge of Network Architecture, current and future topology.
  • Experience with IP and Networking Theory.
  • Strong customer skills and the ability to handle complex customer issues with minimal supervision.
  • Outside Plant knowledge.
