The Social Media Strategist is responsible for the development of compelling strategic and creative content, within brand and on strategy, across our social media platforms. We’re looking for an experienced social media strategist who is creative, forward thinking and data-driven; possessing equal parts “creative brain” and “strategic brain” to join our team. This position requires strong writing and editing skills, attention to detail and the ability to create compelling social strategy and content that drives engagement and meaningful action from key audiences. This person must ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory restrictions. In addition, keeping informed of the business challenges and competitor strategies is critical for success. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop thorough and accurate social media briefs, and present them to the creative team.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and content support for social media channels for ad hoc projects and campaigns while ensuring consistency with internal content standards and best practices.
  • Manage social media editorial calendar, maintaining a unified single view on planned content and ad hoc content, ensuring content is timely, culturally relevant, on brand, and cohesive to larger social media strategy.
  • Researches clients, their competitors and the target audience to support creative social media strategy and inform the execution.
  • Conduct monthly performance reports of content to educate the team on post/social content strategies moving forward.
  • Prepare presentations and materials to share with key business stakeholders to provide insight into our activities. This includes sharing content calendars and performance roundups of engagements earned.
  • Intuitively adapts to ever-changing landscape of social platforms/social content, and actively advises the team on how our content should reflect these changes.
  • Responds to all requests and communications in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Works to improve the team’s overall performance and embraces a collaborative approach.
  • Takes the lead in staff and manager meetings and able to report back to SeniorManagement on status and updates.
  • Help the team to strategically perform the work on a high level of planning.
  • Creative thought process at a high level and be able to articulate the work back to the team.
  • Edits and proofreads material as demand and scheduling requires.
  • Supports leadership in helping build a unified team mindset.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in Strategy Development and Planning roles with an emphasis on social and digital channels.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience managing and leading projects.
  • Experience briefing an in-house creative team and/or ad agency.
  • Experience in social media judgement (e.g., knowing what to post and when to post it).
  • Knowledge with optimizing content on specific social media platforms to drive engagement.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for digital and social marketing.
  • Problem-solving skills; creative, practical, innovative, thorough, detail-oriented.
  • Ability to be entrepreneurial; driven, agile, analytical, curious, empathetic.
  • Ability to get things done; disciplined manager of time and projects; highly organized.
