What you’ll be doing...

In this role you will be responsible providing network performance analysis specific to the Verizon managed customer network. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Verizon Analysis Professional (AP) to deliver this service on a weekly, and monthly basis. The technologies and associated performance related variables used for the analysis are dependent upon the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) capabilities* of the managed device, as well as the level of service to which the customer has subscribed for the Managed Services performance and trending application (provided by SevOne).

Post-monthly network performance reporting, analyzing the network performance based on key variables such as, but not limited to, utilization, queue drops, and error conditions from the perspective of the Verizon managed device. With a preliminary report established, the Analysis Professional has the capability to utilize other Verizon tools and reporting systems (as required) to validate findings and further clarify the nature of the issues identified in finalizing the report. The ideal candidate will thrive both individually and as a team player with the ability to transition quickly into incidents as needed.

  • Provide recommendations to improve network performance, either site-specific or the network as a whole, with the goal of end user satisfaction with network responsiveness.
  • Conduct a review of the post-monthly network performance report with the customer and Verizon account team (to be arranged by account team POC).
  • Perform notification to the customer and/or appropriate Verizon organizations to isolate and resolve performance anomalies discovered prior to or after the reporting cycle.
  • Assist the customer and Verizon organizations with resolution of any issues that arise during the reporting cycle.
  • Assist the Verizon Design Engineers with architecture and capacity planning for the customer.
  • Participate in Quarterly network performance reviews.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of SevOne.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in computer science, information systems, analytics, or a business-related field.
  • Experience with analytics.
  • Worked as part of a team for data collection and analysis.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience working in a network operations center as a network engineer.
  • Familiarity with Cisco network cpe.
  • Demonstrated Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects with a strict focus to detail.
