What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be working in a 7x24x365 shift environment to provide Landing Party Services to related submarine cable networks, collocated carriers, and backhaul services. Your role will involve installation, configuration and testing, as well as continued operation of high capacity fiber optic transmission equipment, interfacing with the technical centers and NOCs of Verizon and other carriers. We strive to provide industry leading technical support to enhance the customer experience and you can play a vital role in achieving this goal.

  • Provide ongoing operation and maintenance, both routine and on-demand, of fiber optic transmission equipment and the associated circuits.
  • Install, test, and commission new circuit orders in a timely manner.
  • Utilize local and remote test systems, applying fault isolation techniques and standard diagnostic procedures, to isolate and resolve equipment and circuit problems.
  • Monitor equipment, the physical plant, and active circuits.
  • Interact and communicate with customers and other company departments, involving an exchange of detailed, technical information.
  • Summarize and log the results/findings of each activity in related trouble ticket databases as well as issue ad-hoc reports when requested

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience with Submarine Cable Systems environment and its associated key components.
  • Experience with the high capacity data transmission equipment from manufacturers such as Ciena, Fujitsu, Alcatel, and TE Subcom,
  • Experience working in a multi-ethnic/cultural/language scenario.
  • Experience with equipment software supervisory packages.
  • Experience with troubleshooting data circuits and equipment working with remote groups in the process.
