What you’ll be doing...

The objective of this role is to inform and engage the Network Systems’ staff, find new and better ways to gather, create and deliver useful content and to continually equip & energize the team with practical and inspiring messages from leadership and fellow V-Teamers.

The Network Systems organization is responsible for the design, development, testing, implementation and support of all the software the enables the Verizon Wireline and Wireless networks, from network planning to field operations to service assurance. This team is right in the middle of the most strategic projects within Verizon: 5G, iEN and One Fiber. As a result, the team member will be required to learn these emerging technologies, so they are able to deliver the most impactful message.

The Internal Communications / Business Operations Analyst works with business and technical teams to find stories pertinent to the group and sharing via compelling content - across the organization and across the company. In addition to the communications aspect, there are business tenets too which are proactively sourced, shared and executed. These entail elements of training, HR, interns and other items as needed.

A proactive personality combined with organizational skills are paramount for success.

The successful candidate is a newshound as well as one who interfaces with team leaders. He / she researches and documents those stories by partnering with business and technical subject matter experts (SME) within Verizon, and then publishes / distribute them in a visually pleasing way: articles, newsletters, infographics and videos.

The role requires metrics tracking which get reported to management.

In conjunction with the team…

  • Develop, Maintain and orchestrate content plan (3 to 6 months in advance)
  • Gather story ideas
  • Research / document facts by partnering with business and IT SMEs
  • Write stories, produce videos and design graphics to best portray messages
  • Help with executive communications and presentations around events such as town halls, kickoffs and webcasts
  • Manage industry awards, speeches, video scripts, talk tracks, and communications from senior leadership
  • Track and report readership stats to management
  • Townhall and webcast planning and related logistics (souring the right people for the event and creating invites, etc.
  • eCRM communications
  • Report generation
  • Develop weekly agendas
  • Manage a variety of org wide reports through accessing multiple internal systems – headcounts, training, employee recognition & more
  • Ensure all communications are within branding and partner with corporate communications, marketing, and legal to ensure messaging is consistent

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have :

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
  • Valid driver's license.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in Technical writing. Graphic design Video design / editing Adobe InDesign Adobe Premiere ProAdobe Illustrator Adobe Photoshop.
  • Experience with Google G-Suite, PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
  • Experience with HTML.
  • Strong interpersonal communications.
  • Leadership qualities.
