Customer Service FP&A Team

The Customer service FP&A team is the finance business partner to the Customer Service function in Verizon Wireless. We provide financial analysis and decision support to enable the Customer Service vision and strategy across all consumer customers. This role will be finance liaison to the Strategic Partnership Channel (SPC), the outsourced portion of the Customer Service organization. You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, resource allocation decisions related to optimal outsource mix and partner location strategy. You can have an impact on customer experience across all channels by building business cases and supporting analysis to enable decisions.

  • Be a trusted finance partner to the SPC (Strategic partnership channel) - Partner with the SPC team to develop structured analysis and reporting to aid in the strategic decision making to optimize performance and instill financial stewardship.
  • Reporting and analysis - analyze monthly results, prepare executive slides on SPC. Partner with the business to investigate variances, propose solutions and actionable plans.
  • Model and analyze a bottom ups outlook/budget models & monthly forecasts – own the outlook, budgeting & monthly forecast process for outsourced labor, develop the models, partnering with the business on forward looking business drivers – understand and drive strategic discussion around choices on partner and geographic mix allocation.
  • Lead the SPC monthly close and accrual process managing ~ $30-$40M in monthly expense - Lead close meetings with accounting, the outsourced business partners, understand current month performance based on the highly complex contract structure and how it translates into current month expense. Partner with Business Unit to reflect latest performance trends in monthly accruals and opex estimates.
  • Evaluate the SPC contract structures and model the financial implications and opportunities from the contract.
  • Assist Sourcing and contract management with the eCAS process, PO & vendor set up.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
  • Ability to analyze large sets of data using Excel, Tableau or other analytical software.
  • A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
  • Knowledge of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies and processes.
  • Knowledge of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis.
  • Ability to explore data from different angles, problem solve and think critically through complex solutions.
  • Experience using SQL.
  • Knowledge with the preparation of General Ledgers, Basic Knowledge of FASB requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Experience in Essbase, Smart View.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to focus on the details.
