What you’ll be doing...

We are looking for an analytics and process-driven leader to become the Director of Quality Excellence team. As a key member of the Quality Excellence team, you’ll be responsible for quality in business systems and technical operations. Broadly this individual will of part of creation of Quality systems for entire Verizon, which includes core competencies from ISO9000, Malcolm-Baldrige quality criteria, etc. This entails acustomer centered view to operationalizing our Verizon Quality systems to achieve the highest quality in our products/solutions, unsurpassed customer satisfaction and shareholder value.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategy for QMS (Quality Management Systems) and implementation and optimization starting from zero
  • Develop KPI's and written business policies aligned with organizational goals and regulations and get senior leaders buy in
  • Establish best-in-class quality goals, perform quality metrics trending, and apply problem solving andsystem improvements to meet these target levels of quality
  • Oversee Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs by coordinating activities consistent with established company and management goals andobjectives, as well as industry specific and ISO guidelines and policies
  • Include, align, and collaborate with business teams to meet revenue and time-to-market goals for the business
  • Present to Senior Business Unit and Functional leaders on Quality KPIs, process to improve quality, how to drive Quality system, and business governance
  • Promote the development of a company-wide culture of quality excellence and understanding of the key elements related to quality system and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Develop and implement/integrate thorough supplier quality management programs including processes for evaluating and qualifying new suppliers
  • Acts as a senior consultant for all quality related areas within the organization both internally and representing Verizon externally as needed
  • Lead Business process audits and provide closed loop feedbacks to ensure process improvements are done and most importantly sustained
  • Share best practices, participate in Industry as a thought leader
  • Maintains an effective Quality Management System that assesses the appropriateness of the Quality Management System on an annual basis and makes recommendations to senior management for improvement

What we’re looking for...

  • 10+years experience in driving quality assurance, and demonstrated leadership
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, business or scientific discipline; Masters/MBAdegreehighly desirable
  • Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt preferred
  • Strong background with telecommunication systems such as cellular networks, mobiles, etc.
  • Understanding of telecom cellular network topology of large scale application deployments.
  • Working experience with Network Operations Center (NOC)
  • Background in different field operation functions such as construction, service delivery, installation, repair and maintenance of cellular and/or cable network
  • Proven experience of driving change in a matrix organization
  • Experienced with leading Quality organization in a large and complex organization. Proven experience as a change agent to deploy world class Quality systems and processes
  • Must be comfortable with ambiguity and how to establish a strategy for the team from scratch
  • Broad and an in-depth understanding of ISO standards, Malcolm-Baldrige criteria and QMS systems
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Excellent project management skills: Ability to establish priorities, manage multiple projects/priorities at once, establish timelines/milestones to achieve objectives
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of employees across the business; ability to influence and negotiate
  • Ability to operate effectively under pressure of deadlines
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in business requirements and technology
  • Ability to work with moderate-to-large and geographically diverse teams
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
