What you’ll be doing...

Join our IT Application Team where you will be a member of the Web Application Firewall (WAF) where WAF will be implemented across Verizon to add a layer of security at the application layer furthering the defense in-depth policies of the CIO and CISO. You will drive the strategy and implementation of systems that support WAF across the enterprise. As part of the WAF team, you will use your understanding of how processes intertwine in these functions to identify and solve issues focusing on implementation and continuous improvement. Finally, you will have a strong balance of IT security knowledge as well as the business acumen to support the communication and implementation of WAF across the enterprise.

  • Drive complex projects and programs to achieve targeted and measured business goals and key objectives.
  • Coordinate and schedule resources across multiple organizations to align project requirements with business goals and objectives.
  • Identify, monitor, report and escalate project-related issues to achieve timely resolution.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans to mitigate impact to project schedules and overall business objectives.
  • Utilize project tracking tools and systems to accurately document milestones completions, project issues, corrective action plans, project jeopardies, and overall project completions.
  • Maintain excellent communication with functional team members and direct management to ensure early identification of issues and a timely reporting of status.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • PMP certification.
  • Knowledge of managing application development or network projects.
  • Strong technical and project management knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Engineering, Planning, and/or Application Security.
  • Excellent knowledge of PC and software applications, including Windows and MS Office.
  • Experience with SRM/SAP as well as expense and/or capital budgets.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills for inter-organizational communications.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.
  • Experience making independent decisions based on policies, practices and project requirements.
