What you’ll be doing...

The Network Transformation program office is responsible for the implementation of strategic initiatives to improve our long-term wireline cost structure by simplifying product sets, moving customers to the best network and service options, and retiring outdated assets.

This position will lead the Legal and Regulatory activities driven by Network Transformation efforts. Responsible for ensuring Verizon’s municipal, state and federal legislative strategy, external affairs and community engagement are in support of the Network Transformation goals across all business units with a focus on issues involving fiber deployment as well as copper, switch and product retirement. This position will also be charged with creating new solutions/strategies that contribute to the achievement of organization-wide objectives. Daily contact with many internal organizations including Legal, Federal, Regulatory, Engineering, IT, Migration and Field Operation SMEs will be required to ensure program continuity.

Plans and executes strategies to ensure that any municipal legislation has a positive or neutral impact on the Network Transformation effort.

Project management of copper and switch retirement filings.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree

  • Work experience in the telecommunications regulatory space

  • Experience in professional writing and leading communications programs, including change management communications and marketing communications.

  • Two or moreyears of cross-functional project management skills involving process improvement initiatives.

  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.

  • Organizational and planning skills.

  • Ability to manage and meet deadlines and changing priorities to deliver measureable results as part of a fast-paced, dynamic team.

  • Ability to work with all levels of management

  • Willingness to accept changes in responsibility with short notice based on business

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written and ability to communicate effectively with business units across the company.

  • Skills in negotiating issues in support of corporate goals and objectives.

  • Knowledge of Verizon Engineering and Operations business functions.

  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
