What you’ll be doing...

The Director of Business Analytics will generate in-depth insights on Cross Journey cross-channel paths, root cause(s) behind performance issues, & opportunities to optimize Omni-channel CX & businessprofitability to Verizon Consumer Leadership Team to empower them with fact-based data analysis to drive profitable growth & manage cost effectively, while minimizing the emotional aspect of decision making. Additionally these analytics will identify opportunity for automation and process improvement to deliver a seamless and connected customer experience.

This Position will report to the Exec Dir – Systems of Insights.

This Director will be responsible for the following key functions

  • Design and conduct comprehensive analyses that promote timely actionable insights, empower decision making around customer experience for strategic product/pricing initiatives, promotions and offers, and impacts from competitive activity with insights and recommended course corrections.

  • Structure and deliver concise, data driven narratives in order to drive the company's priorities; by translating data into compelling stories which connect findings from different sources and synthesize them into a single connected experience.

  • Review changing market conditions and historical performance, identify opportunities, deliver insights, and assess the impact of strategic initiatives that improve Business profitability and eventually shareholder value.

  • Lead and develop a team of highly skilled analysts.

  • Prioritize team’s efforts against strategic business priorities by highly disciplined valuation process.

  • Experience in building analytical frameworks, analyzing complex data, and visualizing key business insights across different functions and leadership levels

  • Demonstrated experience in Analytics techniques, tools, operational applicability

  • Proven leadership and communication skills in driving cross-functional efforts in large and complex organizations.

  • Provide thought-leadership with all matters related to Analytics as a Business partner.

  • Builds strong cross functional relationships with various business stakeholders & IT teams.

  • Leads the team in the design and execution of actionable analytical plans supporting clear business objectives.

  • Ensures key success metrics are identified and tracked to promote the team’s successes

  • Prioritize/Capacity planning and Resource Management.

  • Prioritize projects against clear and important business objectives.

  • Stay informed on Industry / Analytics innovations and best-in-class practices

  • Engage with external partners and attend events to leverage new data sources and tools and stay in touch with the evolution of tools/data for Big Data, Social Media Analytics, Real time analytics…

  • Provide subject matter expertise to support advanced analytics needs in regards to data availability (internal & external), data infrastructure and analytical tools.

What we’re looking for...

  • Bachelor's Degree; Advanced degree in Engineering or Business;

  • Hands on analytical experience with focus on results and strong track record.

  • Strong visualization/storyboarding skills to present insights and recommendations in concise, and intuitive narratives

  • Proven track record with demonstrated strategic thinking, formulation and planning skills to deliver against team commitments and work objectives.

  • Ability to assess and combine different analytical/modeling approaches to best suit objectives

  • Relevant experience in building and leading Marketing Analytics units in Consumer or Telco industries that are recognized for their analytical excellence is preferred.

  • Able to design, review, and optimize project plans, identify critical dependencies, sequencing and risks, and drive projects to success.Financial acumen and business case proficiency, including scenario modeling and storyboarding.

  • Highly motivated with the ability to collaborate with individuals to foster a strong team environment

  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work across functional teams including Finance, Product, Strategy, IT, and Network and have a demonstrated history of gaining alignment with leaders and senior executives

  • Aptitude to learn new technical subjects and emerging technologies and articulate their business implications.
