What you’ll be doing...

Verizon Enterprise Solutions offers Design and Network Engineering as a premium architecture and engineering service to augment traditional Managed Network Services offerings. In support of core Engineering delivery teams, the Sr. Manager Lifecycle Engineering: Development will provide global Practice-level guidance on Engineering input to Product teams on Managed Services testing, documentation, and launch activities, as well as Learning & Development oversight and strategic planning to ensure alignment of Engineering skills with Verizon services technology roadmap.

  • Responsible for effectively directing and managing internal Engineering and Product relationships and Verizon workforce & processes in engineering ecosystem.
  • Responsible for leadership of a focused team in supporting Engineering customer delivery objectives; includes responsibility/accountability for input to L&D and Product teams related to technology, process, or client solutions. Maintenance of Practice-level product and process technical documentation.
  • Ownership of continuous review, identification, development, and implementation of improvements to the product process to increase efficiency, quality, and speed of delivered services.
  • Provide change leadership within immediate team and encourage and nurture change across Engineering ecosystem.
  • Communicate and translate functional/operational goals into team/individual objectives; manage implementation of policies & procedures.
  • Carry out, inspect and validate management administration tasks, such as time management and productivity measurement, personnel development, etc.
  • Manage directly and proactively team of distributed Engineers; provide support/review and escalation for direct team.
  • Monitor, optimize and report on resource and workforce management.
  • Close collaboration with Engineering/Planning, IT, Product Development, and various Verizon and external delivery and support teams to manage the design and implementation of client projects.
  • Manage business expense and revenue to ensure profitability.
  • Responsible for the protection of Verizon customer proprietary network information and Verizon information assets.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Engineering, Computer Science or relevant work experience.
  • Eight or more years of experience in Telecommunications or Technology Company.
  • Knowledge of communications products and networking technologies in order to understand technical issues.
  • Strong skills in project execution, communication, and program management.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Independent thinking skills; demands full use and application of principles, theories, concepts and technologies.
  • Knowledge of business processes (e.g. ITIL, Project Management) and the impact thereof on the technical environment.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities through experience in leading teams or projects to successfully achieve measurable results.
  • Experience or specific skills related to: product development, technology adoption, software development, business process optimization, automation, training and strategic planning, etc.
