What you’ll be doing...

Our network engineering team keeps us ahead of the competition by delivering superior products. As an Engr III Cslt-RF (In-building), you will oversee the design, specification, implementation and acceptance of In-building DASs. You will work with sub-market RF Engineers to ensure the In-building Team is focused on projects in order of priority and that we deliver solutions of maximum value. You will share in the development and socializing of standards, interfacing with peers in other sub-markets as well as at HQ and Territory levels, for the deployment of LAA and/or Wi-Fi, CBRS and eventually 5G in IBSs and Special Venues.

  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of principles of RF Propagation, Antenna modeling, assorted radio technologies and attributes of power and RF losses in complex in-building and special venue environments.
  • Responsible for choosing the appropriate RF source and DAS equipment to ensure that the long-term needs of the business and customer will be met while making efficient use of the capital.
  • Collaborate with HQ-level (MTCE, in particular), Territory Planning Teams and sub-market RF peers to define objectives and set strategy for your sub-market.
  • Managing search area issuance, candidate assessment, and approvals.
  • Partnering with System Performance to improve various network KPIs.
  • Using internal tools to process regulatory compliance.
  • Working on new cell sites, making sure the site is properly integrated into the network and optimized for peak performance.
  • Performing Macro/Small Cell design/In Building design, including antenna selection and placement.
  • Using knowledge of GSM, LTE, CDMA 1x, EVDO and microwave to contribute to network design.
  • Participate in the development of LAA, CBRS and 5G mm Wave deployment standards.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in RF design and optimization.
  • A valid Driver's license.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science, with a specialization in RF or communications systems. Knowledge of RF theory and practice, as well as LTE/VoLTE technology.
  • PMP certification.
  • iBwave Level 1 or higher certification.
  • Experience in design & optimization of LTE/VoLTE networks.
  • Knowledge of propagation modeling software such as Planet EV or Atoll.
  • Knowledge of LTE and CDMA technologies-LTE network KPIs and key parameters.
  • LTE traffic engineering experience, and experience with performance and traffic trending tools.
  • Knowledge of LTE call processing (originations, handoffs) and data networking (switching/routing, TCP/IP).
  • Knowledge of in-building DAS design concepts and solutions.
  • Experience with Model Tuning.
  • Knowledge of various RF tools such as Mapinfo or post processing software.
  • Knowledge of SQL scripting or VB Scripting.
  • Knowledge of Excel, including VB macro creation and worksheet manipulation.
  • Knowledge of RF antenna theory and design.
  • Knowledge with Nokia infrastructure.
  • Strong mapping skills and in-depth knowledge of RF design using Atoll design tool.
  • Knowledge of interference detection and correction techniques.
  • Knowledge with RF data collection/analysis/propagation tools and RF test equipment.
  • Experience with MapInfo or ArcGIS.
  • Knowledge with Monte Carlo simulation or other statistical models.
  • Experience in database management.
