What you’ll be doing...

This Manager will lead a consumer segment marketing team responsible the development of segmentation led value propositions for our core wireless business. Focused on driving revenue, this role will champion the needs for new product and program development as well as carve out the vision, market strategy and integration of services. The role will develop the business case for innovative customer centric programs that have market differentiation and strong sustainability to increase our subscriber base. He/she will lead an internal team and agencies from ideation to validation resulting in acquisition based campaign vehicles. He/she will provide the requirements for segmentation insights and foundational research with decision making ability.

  • Support and develop work to increase Verizon’s brand resonance and revenue opportunities by developing progressive marketing offerings that meet the unique needs of the diverse and shifting customer bases.
  • Define value propositions based on insights and segmentation to break through the US wireless industry. The key objectives are to drive new account and deliver improved lifetime value.
  • Combine marketing thought leadership and an understanding of our capabilities and objectives to support growth targets across Verizon. This will require a blend of financial acumen, strategic analysis, influence management and execution skills to turn data points into actionable plans.
  • Work with consumer insights, analytics, competitive teams, key corporate and divisional stakeholders to clearly highlight opportunities and challenges within the segment.
  • Lead business case development for market and revenue potential, as well as existing customer base implications.
  • Improve ROI from segment marketing activities by defining quantitative metrics to measure and optimize all areas of the function.
  • Identify partner solutions and manage business development for content, feature inclusions, or bundling.
  • Lead overall market positioning and operational strategy for launching new value props or evolving current market solutions through Verizon operational delivery chain.
  • Own marketing briefing for agency creative development for media campaigns, retail merchandising and digital/social media presence.
  • Develop and maintain a yearly portfolio roadmap.

Budget management responsibilities and understanding of the business financials. Will lead a team of managers ensuring collaboration, developmental opportunities and group success.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA and/or technical degree highly desired

  • 6+ years of experience in commercial marketing, value proposition/pricing design and complex portfolio management highly desired

  • 6+ years of innovation strategy, concept development, & experience design spanning the industry’s value chain; proven track record of marketing ideation and execution

  • 3+ years as a people leader with direct reports
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and will convey a sense of poise and confidence in both formal and informal settings with senior executives, peers and business partners
  • Manage ambiguity with ease; will make decisions with speed and accuracy; and will champion change in a passionate, convincing manner that elicits broad support
  • Aligning a wide range of stakeholders to develop and maintain key partnerships
  • Deep experience developing and executing segment-based strategies to achieve customer growth and accomplish strategic objectives, ideally in a subscription-based business
  • Ability to drive change and performance in a matrixed, consensus-based organization where successful collaboration and communication are required at all levels
  • Demonstrated success in managing a complex workload with multiple priorities and tight deadlines with a focus on measuring results and improving performance
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and thrive under pressure
  • Ability to drive results at all levels, regardless of reporting structures
