What you’ll be doing...

This key development role within Verizon Wireless Device Product Compliance organization will give you as a Product Compliance Manager a very unique opportunity to evolve and drive cross-functional VZW groups and external teams including device OEMs. In addition, you will engage directly with Test Vendors, Developers and Technology Partners. In this role, you will be working with members of OEM R&D, Business, and IT teams at Verizon and Verizon Wireless to help drive key efficiency processes, tracking and reporting. If you are a self-motivator with the required background, strong project management skills and looking to be part of a high performance engineering team driving the development and testing of devices, you are looking at the right opportunity.

  • Manage and execute the VZW device evaluation and approval process for both Verizon Retail as well as newly defined Business Fulfillment channels.
  • Act as single point of contact to device vendors for communications and activities related to the device testing process. As part of test process administration, hold weekly call with device suppliers, maintain up to date issues using HP ALM or JIRA for each device and attend and take active role in compliance reviews & device submission reviews.
  • Champion the introduction of new technologies like LTE CAT-M, LTE Advanced, and Narrow Band IOT. Lead the creation of device compliance process for these new device technologies working with internal teams.
  • Define test strategy for new device type and new product launches working with internal business/product teams and IT
  • Prepare and present data related to the device testing process (statistics, timelines etc.) for devices managed. Support device supplier quarterly QMR's (as necessary) with vendor scorecard rankings and testing summary information. Capture VZW Device Testing and Approval Process clarifications, changes, and gaps in order to continually improve the process.
  • Act as single point of contact for the VZW Network Lab Testing personnel and the Device Marketing Product Development Group for devices being managed.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Project Management skills
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree or MBA
  • Working relationship with device OEMs
  • Juggled multiple priorities to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Technical and analytical skills, including the ability to understand and communicate highly complex technical information
  • Three or more years of Wireless/Telecommunications/Internet experience
  • Two or more years of experience with LTE, and 3G device technologies
  • Knowledge of Advanced LTE, CAT-M, and NB-IOT
  • Experience in Mobile device development process
  • Strong working knowledge carrier device certification process
  • Strong communication, presentation, decision making and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in process execution, development, and deployment of products and new technologies.
  • Experience in Project Management tools and techniques
  • Experience in HPQC / ALM / JIRA Data Base Management
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Programs
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communications skills
  • ability to build relationships across the organization and work independently
  • Ability to deliver business results through timely and quality decision making
