What you’ll be doing...

The position will be responsible for voice service engineering among several different VoIP elements as well as documenting and designing configurations for the deployment of national products. The position provides a support role to other voice services MTS’s and collaborating with other voice services teams to document standard configurations. Developing configuration designs through teamwork with vendors, voice services teams, and HQ organizations for VoIP network elements. The position will engage in troubleshooting voice services using several tools to analyze protocols for resolution.

  • Responsible for voice services system engineering for the deployment of national products.
  • Focal point for identifying and documenting voice services configuration related issues.
  • Support the development of system engineering related platforms and perform administrative functions for these platforms
  • Facilitate communication between regions, HQ organizations, Vendors, resellers and various marketing departments.
  • Act as subject matter experts in voice services and support MTS’s with their functions and duties.
  • Accumulate and compile configuration information that is targeted for standardization and maintain data in a centralized database.
  • Troubleshoot voice service related issues and prescribe corrective action/update standards.
  • Collaborate with other Voice Service teams on design solutions.
  • Develop standards and processes for Voice Services including NNI, Peering, and VOLTE networks.

What we’re looking for...

The individual will be expected to have strong SIP/DIAMETER knowledge and work well in a team environment. The position requires the applicant to work with little supervision and be a self-starter. Having strong knowledge of the VOLTE call flows and NNI element configurations is required. Ability to track and report status of active projects to management effectively and timely.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Voice Services in multiple elements (SBC,TAS,MSC and ENUM) and multiple protocols (SS7, IS41, ISUP, ITUI, SIP, RTP/RTCP, Diameter).
  • Strong knowledge of Voice Networking skills including VOLTE Call Flows.
  • Technical Document and MOP Writing skills.
  • Experience with Voice Services and Call Flow knowledge of the following network elements and tools:
    • SBC (RIBBON)
    • PSX (RIBBON)
    • TAS (Ericsson & Broadsoft)
    • ENUM (NetNumber)
    • CDMA Elements (MSC/HLR)
    • Irisview (SIP/DIAMETER), SevOne
    • Confluence and JIRA (Tracking and Reporting Tools)

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Project management skills to complete tasks in the normal business day routine.
  • Experience in VoIP Industry Standards (RFC3261).
  • Strong interpersonal skills in an environment that requires a team effort across department.
  • High level of accountability, ownership and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to demonstrate communication skills by communicating, verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner; applying appropriate grammar.
  • Listening attentively; presenting ideas in a logical, compelling manner in both small and large group settings; adjusting to meet the needs of the reader or listener.
  • Communicating technical information to a non-technical audience; and integrating large volumes of information from multiple sources.
  • Continual commitment to all company goals and objectives and the ability to focus the team members on those objectives.
