What you’ll be doing...

Retail Supply Chain Reverse Planning Team is responsible for planning the flow of returned devices via Trade-in, Annual Upgrade, CLNR (Certified Like New Replacement) and Customer Guarantee Programs through the Centralized Returns & Testing Center (CRTC) to satisfy the demand of various outflow programs like Wholesale and CLNR to maximize revenue and profit margins while minimizing working capital. Reverse operations generate significant revenue for Verizon by processing 12+ million devices annually.

The Planning Consultant is responsible for developing and maintaining near term and long range comprehensive device supply/demand plans to ensure optimal quantity and timing of inventory to support the top device program that generates the most revenue and margin for the Reverse Supply Chain. The primary focus is to leverage data, systems and tools and apply analytical skills to manage supply into the reverse system without driving excess on hand. The consultant will lead and support collaborations with business stakeholders and internal partners, as well as aligning with senior management in order to meet overall inventory and monetization targets. This individual is expected to and to seek out process improvements and best practices that can be leveraged to drive efficiency across the value chain.

This position requires execution excellence on a day-to-day basis, but also tactical thinking with the ability to be self-directed. The successful candidate needs to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously to completion in a dynamic environment where requirements and constraints may evolve frequently.

The Planning Consultant will:

  • Analyze trends and create weekly forecasts of specific devices. Ensure that supply will meet the forecasted demand;
  • Use and maintain current demand (supply) planning systems to create the best forecast (supply plan) possible using established processes;
  • Responsible for decreasing the percentage of the new devices in the supply plan;
  • Proactively resolve supply disruptions. Work with CLNR Management and Device Quality & Repair teams on device allocations;
  • Resolve out-of-stock issues and proactively reduce product shortages;
  • Develop and maintain near term and long range comprehensive device supply gap analyses through comparison of actual and forecasted inflow and consolidated demand program schedules;
  • Measure, analyze and report key performance indicators (KPIs) like on-time-delivery and monitor adherence to KPIs;
  • Collaborate with internal and strategic external partners to identify and execute innovative solutions to improve supply chain planning efficiencies for both Verizon and partners.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of ERP and planning systems (SAP, PeopleSoft, JDA, etc.).
  • Experience in supply/demand planning.
  • Knowledge of data processing and manipulation by SQL, Alteryx, and Python.
  • Results oriented and deadline driven.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field like Engineering, Supply Chain.
  • Ability to apply data analytic techniques to pinpoint opportunities.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and influence collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools like Excel, Qlik, Tableau.
