This position is on the Product UX + Design team. This team is responsible for elevating the design, user experience and interaction experience for all Verizon Location Services web and mobile products.

  • Gathering feature requirements from the project leads and product leads.
  • Knowledge on end user needs, motivations and behaviors and translating them into viable recommendations.
  • Creating wireframes, user flows and interactive prototypes.
  • Presenting design deliverables to peers and key stakeholders.
  • Defining user tests and working with outside resources to execute.
  • Mentoring existing UI/UX staff on best UX practices.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with mobile application design with a strong knowledge of iOS/Android interface standards and platform differences.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Experience with prototyping tools such as Adobe Xd, Sketch, Figma, or Proto.io.

Even better if you have

  • A degree.
  • Seven or more years of experience as a UX designer.
  • An online portfolio of work which includes examples of mobile app design.
  • Strong critical thinking and desire to solve difficult problems.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest UX trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • Ability to effectively advocate for end users while collaborating with product management and engineering teams.
  • Ability to shift focus between the needs of concurrent projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
  • Ability to understand consumer needs, motivations and behaviors and translate them into recommendations.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity or when requirements are still in flux.
  • Artistic eye for design and the ability to think creatively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong self-management skills.
  • Willingness to work from our downtown Denver headquarters.
  • Knowledge with standard project management and communication tools (JIRA/Slack/Confluence/Google Docs).
  • Knowledge with motion graphic tools.
