What you’ll be doing...

When employees need special accommodations to perform their jobs, you’ll be there to help them find the right job.

Your role will be to help current employees find suitable work within Verizon. You’ll evaluate accommodations, which can range from reconfiguring physical space to adjusting working hours, and figure out the best way to help the employee find the right job, You’ll be helping ensure that we create an environment where everyone can contribute their best work—and help us build the future.

  • Assessing employee accommodation needs and match them to new job opportunities.
  • Ensuring that both the business and employees’ needs are met.
  • Evaluating restrictions and accommodations to make sure they comply with policy and any existing agreements.

What we’re looking for...

You’re a strong problem solver with sound judgment and a nuanced understanding of “gray” areas. With compassion and empathy, you listen and weigh matters from all perspectives --carefully balancing the individual, company, and compliance needs. You like to be organized and have a focus on quality and attention to detail. You appreciate the sensitive and confidential nature of your work and handle it with care.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Recruiting experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Familiarity with collectively bargained medical restriction plans, ADA case law, or CBAs and bargained for plan documents that provide uniform treatment for employees.
  • Experience with the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act).
  • AMTS/PeopleSoft (or other case management tools) experience.
